William Herman Protine
Obituary's Biography:
William Herman Protine, 89, a resident of Third Lake, passed away peacefully at his home, on Sunday, January 22, 2017. He was born November 25, 1927 in Antioch, IL to Paul and Elsie Protine. William was a World War II veteran having served during the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters for 65 years, an avid traveler and fisherman. William attended church faithfully and was strong in his Christian faith. He last attended the Village Church of Gurnee. William is survived by his children Paula Protine of Waukegan, Andrea Protine of Waukegan, and William E. (Vivien) Protine of Koror Palau, his grandchildren Monica Protine of El Cajon, CA, Richard Weekly of Waukegan, Samantha (Richard) Green of Winthrop Harbor, and William I. Protine of Pleasant Prairie, WI, his 4 great-grandchildren, his niece Melanie Hansford, and many other nieces and nephews in the Illinois and California areas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Norma J. Protine (nee: Carmain), his parents, his sisters Gwendolyn (Kenneth) Strang and Virginia (John) Hudrick, and his brother Barnard (Edith) Protine. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 4:00pm until 9:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will be held privately.
