Obituary's Biography:

Virgil (Dean) Hughes, 81, a resident of Grayslake, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. He was born on October 20, 1936 in Des Moines, IA. Dean’s humor and love for his family was well known and admirable to all that knew him.
Dean served in the US Army from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1959. He worked for the government for 30 years as a civil servant.
Dean was survived by his daughters Diana (Tim) Brya and Patricia (Ken) Bundy his grandchildren Christine (Nick) Read, Nicole (Bob) Stanley, and Wade (Nicole) Bundy, his great-grandchildren Kiana Read, Tyler Read, Rileigh Berg, Maddox Berg, Ethan Bundy, Noah Bundy, Emerson Stanley and Mason Bundy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Masako, parents and siblings Raymond and Cecilia.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 4th, 2018 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm with a funeral service commencing at 7:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s and/or Parkinson’s Foundation.
