Obituary's Biography:

Susan A. Touhy (formerly Hofmann), 99, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. She was born April 29, 1918 in Homewood, IL to Oswald and Margaret Kaufmann. Susan was a member of the Red Hat Society and had worked as a real estate broker for many years. Susan is survived by her daughter Violet Hehn, her son-in-law David Schmidt, her grandchildren Margaret Hehn, Kathleen (Kent) Owsley, Anton (Linda) Hehn, David (Jeanine) Schmidt, and Kimberly (Steve) Peterson, her extended Touhy family, and her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Leonard Hofmann, her second husband James Touhy, and her daughter Christine Schmidt. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:00am at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow the service at Montrose Cemetery in Chicago, IL.
