Ruth H. Larsen

Obituary's Biography:

Ruth H. Larsen, an 81-year-old resident of Mundelein and formerly of Saddlebrook Farms in Grayslake, passed away Monday September 16, 2013.  She was born September 29, 1931 in Chicago to the now late Frank and Helen Blomgren.  Ruth volunteered with Meals on Wheels and loved getting together with her Amundsen High School girlfriends to play poker.  She was employed as a dental assistant for many years.  Ruth is survived by her daughters Janet (Eric) Winograd and Lori (James) Compiani, her grandchildren Todd, Timothy, Emily Winograd, and Scott and Steven Compiani, her great-grandsons Tyler and Cooper, and her nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” Larsen Jr., and her brother Howard.   Friends of the family may visit Saturday September 21, 2013 from 10:00am until 11:00 am with a memorial service to commence at 11:00am at Hope Presbyterian Church, 32475 Alleghany Road Grayslake, IL 60030.  Interment will be held privately.  All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium in Grayslake.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org,  or to Advocate Hospice, www.advocatehealth.com/Hospice.  For information, call 847-223-8122 or visit www.strangfuneral.org.
