Obituary's Biography:

Roy R. Newberry, 74, a resident of Arkansas, passed away October 18, 2024 in Union Grove, WI.  He was born December 8, 1949 in Tennessee to Hughie and Mattie Pulley.

Roy was a member of the New Life Bibleway Baptist Church in Gamaliel, AR.  He enjoyed watching stock car races, fishing, and pulling pranks and jokes.  Roy liked watching western movies, Gospel music, gardening, and sitting on the front porch of the house he built in Arkansas.

Roy is survived by his children Patty (Bob) Courtney and Jenny Stout, his grandchildren Bobby (Lori) Courtney, Jeff (Danielle) Courtney, Lucy (Kurt) Bycroft, Cheryl (Doug) Bolin, Cherice Stout, Matthew (Vesna) Stout, and Candace (Julio) Perez, his great-grandchildren Destiny Robinson, Anakin Courtney, Asher Courtney, Ava Courtney, Joey Courtney, Julio Perez, and Cateleya Perez, his great-great-grandchild Ryan Mathew Hardy, and his brother Carl (Wanda) Newberry.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosalie Newberry, his sister Linda Luffman, and his brothers Troy Newberry, Bob Newberry, and John William Newberry.

A visitation and funeral service are scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 11:00am until 1:00pm with the service commencing at 1:00pm.  The interment will be held following the service at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.  For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.

  1. He was such a wonderful Grandpa and kind hearted person.We had a lot of fun times together.He was truly a blessing.We loved him very much.He will be greatly missed but we know we will see him again someday in heaven with Jesus.

  2. Roy My step dad was a true man of God. He had the most kindest heart, and was a hard worker always willing to help us out as much as he could. We had a lot of fun times with him. We couldn’t of ask for a better step dad who was very dedicated to his family. We will miss him so much.He was a true blessing to all of us We know he is now in heaven and we will see him again one day.
