Obituary's Biography:
Ronald John Ward, age 87, a resident of Grayslake passed away on March 25, 2020 at Captain James A. Lovell VA Hospital in North Chicago. He was born on September 16, 1932 in Chicago to John Joseph and Christine Marcelle Ward (nee Ullmann). Ronald was a member of the Fox Lake American Legion and St. Gilbert Catholic Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Ward, of 65 years whom he married on July 16, 1955 in Wigan, Lancaster, England. He is further survived by his children, Steven (Vicki) of Lindenhurst, Susan Lynn (Dan) of Grayslake and Elizabeth Renee (Lynn) of Grayslake; grandchildren, Andrew, Nicholas, Scott, Timothy, Alison, Joel, and Jackie; and siblings, Jack William (Mary) Ward of Ohio and Claire (Tom) Walsh of Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gail Johnson; nephew, Ryan James Miller; brother-in-law, Joseph Antony Winstanley. A private visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2020 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 for immediate family only. Interment will be held at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Gilbert Catholic Church for a Mass in Ronald’s name. What a blessed life you lived. Full of adventure happiness and love of family. I know that last year had been difficult. I am sure your family will find comfort that you are now with Christine and John Ward. We have a third Ward angel! They are amazing and irreplaceable just as you are. To this day the loss of Christine and John and their presence is a black hole in my life and that if my immediate family. I am sure you chest puffs as you look down On your family. Steve Renee and Lynn are particularly spectacular people as is their family. You have made your mark on so many aspects. You loved and will be loved now and forever.
