Ronald G. Kern, 84, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at his home. He was born December 23, 1934 in Oak Park, IL. Ronald was a veteran having served with the US Army National Guard. He was a member of the Franklin Park Lions Club and worked as a salesman of building materials. Ronald was the devoted husband for 61 years to Elaine (nee: Cabay), whom he wed on May 17, 1958, the loving father of three daughters Karen (Mario) Gumino, Jean (James) Mackowiak, and Patricia (James) Swan, proud grandfather of Stevie (Lenny), Shawn, Heather, Michele, Ronnie, Zack (Mary), Brian, and Becky, and great-grandfather of Jesse. He was preceded in death by his parents Gustave and Wilhelmina (nee: Hollinger) Kern, his brother Raymond (Joan) Kern, and his sister Virginia Try A visitation and memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm with the memorial service commencing at 5:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will be held privately. Memorials may be made to the Lions of Illinois Foundation.
