Obituary's Biography:
Richard D. Blanchard, 83, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Sunday May 11, 2014. He was born May 6, 1931 in Grand Forks, ND to John & Delores Blanchard. Richard was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the US Air Force. Richard graduated from Sacred Heart Academy now Shanley High School in Fargo, ND in 1949. He was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church and an enrolled member of the Minnesota Chippewa (Ojibwe) Tribe White Earth Reservation. Richard worked for Armour Foods for 42 years. Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Germaine, his children Mike (Mary), Terri (Steve) Fabbri, Chris (Tammy), Doug (Jennifer), and Lisa, his grandchildren Dylan, Nick, Jenna, Tara, Alyssa, Matthew, Jonathan, and Emily, his great-grandchildren Hannah and Ryder, and his brothers Don, Wayne (Joanne), and Jim (Robyn). He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John. A visitation is scheduled for Friday May 16, 2014 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, May 17th at 10:00 am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL. Interment will be private. My thoughts and prayers go out to Richard’s family during this very difficult time. My mom, Darlyne “Dee” was married to George Charboneau whose father was George Charboneau whose sister was Delores Charboneau Blanchard! Again sorry for your loss!
