Obituary's Biography:

Pamela Ann Forte, age 71, a resident of Grayslake, IL passed away on November 5, 2024 in Highland Park, IL. She was born on July 24, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Edward and Dolores (nee Suwanski) Maloy.

Pam grew up riding horses and won several ribbons for showing them. As a young woman, Pam’s goal was always to be a mom, which she achieved with raising three children she cherished. As she grew older, she found a love for cooking and traveling as well as gambling. Pam was very family-oriented and loved nothing more in this world than family time. Nothing could bring a smile to her face like seeing her grandchildren and she developed an incredible and unique bond with each and every one of them. Pam was an incredible woman who we all cherished deeply. She touched many lives in many different ways.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Joseph Forte, of 51 years who she married on November 25, 1973 in Chicago; her step-father, Thomas Merkel; her children, Laura Kelly of Johnsburg, IL, Jill Forte of McHenry, IL, and Joseph (Diana) Forte of Harwood Heights, IL; her grandchildren, Anthony Forte of McHenry, IL, Michael Forte of McHenry, IL; Jack Kelly of Johnsburg, IL, Katelynn Kelly of Johnsburg, IL, Maya Forte of Harwood Heights, IL, and Joseph Forte of Harwood Heights, IL; and her sister, Debra Scandora of Waukegan, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Maloy; and mother, Dolores Merkel.

A visitation will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 5pm until 9pm.  A prayer service will be held at the funeral chapel on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11am. Interment will be held privately.

  1. She was an amazing person and made the world brighter. I’m so lucky I was able to know her and got to spend time with her. Pam’s heart was huge.

  3. My heart goes out to the entire Forte family. Many childhood memories were made with Mrs. Forte at the Forte residence in Niles. I feel blessed that Laura shared her with all of us. Sending all of you hugs and prayers from Charlotte, NC.
