Leona Rae Rogal, age 70, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born on January 31, 1945 in Omaha, NE to Day and Nellie Newbold. Leona was a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother, friend and co-worker to anyone she worked with. She always tried to help out whenever she could and in any way she could. She loved nature, animals, camping, crocheting and knitting, kids, and people in general. She was a loyal friend to friends, those in her church, and even total strangers. She loved helping out the less fortunate and she never complained about anything or let anything get in her way, even later on when she was ill. She loved her family and friends, was concerned for them and she worried when they didn’t keep in touch. She loved to babysit children and crochet hats and blankets for them. Leona was a nurse’s aide when she was younger, but in later years switched to daycare and working with children. Kids and family were her world. She was always doing crafts with kids, so that they could give them to their parents for Christmas. She was a member of the Gurnee S.D.A. Church in Gurnee, IL and tried to attend services, when her health allowed her to. Leona is survived by her husband, Walter, whom she married on May 25, 1973 in Chicago; her daughter, Renee Rogal of Round Lake Beach; and her granddaughter, Mary Rogal of Round Lake Beach. Henry Clyde Pletcher, age 72, of Round Lake, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born in Chicago on January 11, 1943 to Raymond and Margaret (nee DePyssler) Pletcher. Henry was a United States Marine vet who loved to fish and go camping. Robert Taylor
Robert Taylor, 72, passed away December 9, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Taylor was the eldest child of George and Blanche Taylor. He was born September 12, 1943 in Belleville, IL. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1961. He went to Illinois State University and completed a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. Professionally, he coached basketball and taught math, physics and chemistry at several Illinois high schools and the College of Lake County. He spent most of his career teaching physics at Warren Township High School, where he taught from 1981 until his retirement in 2003.
He married Sharen McCall on August 13, 1966 in Auburn, IL. They were married for 49 years. They have been members of Faith Church in Grayslake, IL for 34 years.
Surviving are his wife, Sharen Taylor; his brother Alan Taylor, his children, Rhett (Constance) Taylor, Ryan (Tessa) Taylor, and Raegan (Jeremey) Towne; seven grandchildren and two nephews.
A visitation and memorial service will be held Monday, December 14 at Faith Church in Grayslake, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The memorial service will commence at 6:00pm.
Viewing will be Wednesday, December 16 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, immediately followed by a funeral at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn, IL with the Rev. Jeremy Towne officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery.

David was an Eagle Scout, had worked for Tower Products for 2 years, and was a retired patrolman for North Chicago after serving for 28years. Surrounded by her loved ones, Sunitha Singh, age 42, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at her home in Gurnee. She was born on May 19, 1973 in Mysore, Karnataka, India to Krishna Singh and Yeshoda. Sunitha Singh was the type of person that could talk to anyone. She was well liked by all her colleagues. She would always keep everyone happy. She always says she had a good life because she had her family and friends—all this love around her. More than herself, she always strived to be there for those around her. She love to study and learn, and she had obtained her Masters in Business Administration and worked in a Healthcare company for years, putting her knowledge to good use. She loves to cook; her eldest daughter (as a child) used to say that she was the best cook in the whole wide world. She recently had a newfound love of writing; she wrote down her emotions and beautiful thoughts in her journal. She is one of the most selfless people. She worked hard for others; she strived to work for children and women in more impoverished places, keeping her India values and traditions despite her being far from her hometown. That’s just the type of person she was. She is a great mother and wife. She would listen to anything you needed. She was always there for anybody; it’s as if she is still here for anybody who needs her as well. She always put family first and lived by her true values her whole life. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Satish, whom she married on December 4, 1995 in Bangalore, India and her two children, Saniya Singh, 7, and Sanjana Singh, age 19. Angeline moved to Cedar Village in Round Lake Beach over 30 years ago and, most recently, resided at ManorCare in Northbrook. Ange loved bowling, cards and bingo. She was known as the bead lady of ManorCare making hundreds of bracelets and necklaces. JoAnn Sweeney PhD, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2015 from complications of heart disease and cancer JoAnn was 83. JoAnn was born on August 18, 1932 to Clair and Margaret Sweeney (nee Sargent) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. JoAnn graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a BA in Latin studies. She furthered her education and received a Master’s Degree from the University of South Dakota. She also received a Master’s of Library Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. JoAnn taught Latin at North Chicago High School and went on to Loyola University to teach Greek classics to graduate students. It was at Loyola University JoAnn received her PhD, Doctor of Philosophy, Greek classics. JoAnn traveled the world to fulfill her classical studies by attending schools in Rome, Italy, and Barcelona, Spain. Survivors include her sister Kathleen Sweeney of Grayslake, Ill. Mary Malley Toussaint, 101 ½ years young, of Lindenhurst, IL, formerly of Skokie, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center. She was born on May 2, 1914, in Ithaca, New York, to Austin and Helen Malley. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Norbert. She was the loving mother of Mary Diane Simpson, Patricia Varco, Jeanne (John) Goshgarian, Norbert (Karen Brungard) Toussaint, Sharon (Daniel) McCarthy, and Valerie (Joseph) Nathan. She was the cherished grandmother of Daniel (Anna) Simpson, Michael (Stephanie) Simpson, Marie (Tommy Kaschke) Varco, Michael Varco, Valerie Varco, Diana Varco, Andrew Goshgarian, Anne Marie (Graham Kolb) Goshgarian, Gerard Goshgarian, Laura (Justin Hong) Goshgarian, Brian (Neha Kumar) Toussaint, Rebecca (Adam) Lowenstein, Adele (Hunter Stuart) Nathan, Joanne (Andrew Denenberg) Nathan. She was the precious great-grandmother of Eloise Simpson, Charles Simpson, Joseph Kaschke-Varco, Wesley Simpson, and Nathan Lowenstein. She is also survived by a large loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mary was a proud graduate of Cornell University and held a Masters degree from Pennsylvania State University. She had a successful career with the American Dairy Council providing nutritional programs for children in the Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. While raising her large family, she was an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, her Catholic parishes, and all her children’s schools. Mary was a consummate traveler. She and her husband instilled a love of travel in their children as they crossed the country on long road trips. In her later years, she enjoyed cruises and European trips with her cousin Frances.
Mary spent the last fourteen years of her life as a resident of the Village of Victory Lakes. There she made many wonderful friends and enjoyed a wide variety of activities, including volunteering at B. J. Hooper School and at Allendale, serving as a member of the Residents’ Council, playing bridge, and singing with the Vocaleers.
Funeral services are planned for Monday, November 23, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road, in Gurnee, with a gathering at 9:30 am and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. This will be followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Franciscan Communities’ Helping Hands Program or the charity of your choice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ronald Humble, and her sister Darlene Nielsen.
