Jennifer C. Johnson (nee Gibbons)

Jennifer Cathleen Johnson (nee Gibbons), 41, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017. She was born January 18, 1976 to Thomas and Mary (nee Clark) Gibbons.

Jennifer is survived by her parents, Thomas and Mary Gibbons; her husband, Patrick Johnson; her 3 children; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Our dearest little girl has joined the heavenly choir. Jennifer will be greatly missed but in fine company with all of her grandparents. Thank you for the three lovely children you have gifted with your heart, generosity, and compassion, Elizabeth, Marianna, and Caleb. We love and miss you!

Bernice Lis

Bernice Lis, 94, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017.  She was the beloved mother to Gerald (Elfriede) Lis, grandmother of Jerry Lis, and an aunt to many.  She was preceded in death by her 8 brothers and sisters, her husband John Lis and her son Richard Lis.   A visitation and memorial mass is scheduled for Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10:00am until 11:00am with a memorial mass commencing at 11:00am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Debra J. Eness

Debra J. Eness, 65, of Grayslake, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017. She was born on May 10, 1952 in Chicago, Il to Douglas and Josephine Chamblin. She was a member of Joy Lutheran Church. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother.

Debra is survived her husband, Dan; and children, Amanda, Dana and Scott.

Laura M. Huseby

Laura M. Huseby, 85, formerly of Perley, MN, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  Laura is survived by her children Lana (Tim) Madole and John (Elena) Huseby III, her grandchildren Trina (Joe) Metz, Jason (Rebecca) Madole, Jennifer (Steve) Raclaw, and Allison Huseby, and her 9 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John Huseby, her parents, 1 brothers, and 3 sisters.  Interment will be held privately at Avon Centre Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Advocate Hospice 365 Surryse Rd. Michael P. O’Donnell

Michael Paul O’Donnell, 53, of Gurnee, Illinois passed away in the loving arms of his family on August 15, 2017. He was born on March 26, 1964 to Joseph and Mary O’Donnell in Des Plaines Illinois, where he grew up with his two sisters Colleen and Suzanne and his younger brother Brian. He will be remembered for his love of golf and the Cubs, his interest in classic cars and his wonderfully humorous personality.  Michael left behind his loving wife Kimberly, two caring daughters Emily Louise and Kathleen Mary and his constant canine companion Dublin only to reunite with his parents and beloved dog Bear.  His memorial is scheduled for Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 11AM to 1PM followed by a prayer service, commencing at 1pm. at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Rd. Robert R. Deabel

Robert R. Deabel, 84, a resident of Chicago, IL passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Manor Care in Libertyville, IL. He was born May 27, 1933 in Chicago to Paul and Elizabeth (nee: Hirtzig) Deabel. Robert is survived by his sister Joan Bishop, his brother Ronald Deabel, 5 nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 4 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Ronald A. Jones, Jr.

Ronald A. Jones, Jr., age 83, of Grayslake, IL, passed away of natural causes in the comfort of his own home on August 11, 2017. He was born in Chicago on May 20, 1934 to Marie and Ronald A. Jones, Sr. He was a 1952 graduate of Grayslake High School and then a proud “Boilermaker” receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 1956.
Ron (Bud) and his family moved into the area from Chicago when he was 12 years old. In his youth he enjoyed boating on Druce Lake and Round Lake. In high school he was an announcer for the basketball games. At Purdue he was a radio DJ for the dorms. Also he was a member of The ROTC, later joining the Army Reserves and achieving the rank of Captain.
He started his career as an engineer at Caterpillar near Peoria, Illinois where on a blind date he met the girl of his dreams, Verlee. They married in 1958 and were together for 57 years before her passing in 2015.
Ron was a man of strict routine and lived his life with incredible attention to details and documentation. But his number one priority was the health, care, and love of his family. With Verlee by his side, they attended countless ball games, concerts, plays, recitals, and graduations. The pride for his children and grandchildren was endless and the love was immense.
He is survived by their 4 children, Jeff (Laurie) Jones, Valerie Jones, Vickie (Gordon) Held, and Virginia (Shawn) Fitzgerald. 8 grandchildren, Michelle, Corinne, and Kurt Jones. Anthony, Ben, and Adam Fitzgerald. Emily and Elise Held. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Schalk and wife Verlee.
A visitation is scheduled at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvedere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030 on Thursday, August 17, 2017, from 12 to 2 pm with a funeral service immediately following at 2 pm. Private burial.

Brian J. Terryberry

Brian Jay Terryberry, 37, of Niles, Ill passed away on August 9, 2017 in Niles. He was born January 7, 1980  in Waukegan to Jim and Jean (nee Pappa) Terryberry.  He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to ride his Harley and enjoyed attending concerts.     

Brian is survived by his parents; brother, Jeff (Wendy) of Fox Lake; 1 niece; 2 nephews and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mildred Pappa.

Dorothy R. Smith

Dorothy R. Smith, 94, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017, in Bloomingdale, Il. She was born May 27, 1923 in Chicago to Chester and Anna Fabisheck. In 1941, Dorothy married Charles W. Smith. In the early 1950’s, Dorothy moved to Round Lake with her husband and children. She was a long time employee at Heppner Manufacturing. She later relocated to Mt. Prospect.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Charles (Jayne) Smith, Jr., Juanita (Edward) Lang; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and was adored by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Patricia Quane; and sister, Evelyn (Al) Radzik.

Gail Forman Holmes

Gail Forman Holmes, 63, a resident of Gurnee, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017.  She was born December 31, 1953 in Melrose Park, Illinois.  Gail was employed as a long time police and fire dispatcher for Glencoe Public Safety.  Gail is survived by her beloved husband, Lyle A. Holmes; father, William C. Forman; brother, James (Laure Ann) Steel and Garry (Sheila) Forman; and aunt to many nieces and nephews and good friend to many.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Joan Forman; and her biological father, Robert E. Elaine M. Watson

Elaine M. Watson, 84, a resident of Chicago, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale, IL.  She was born January 23, 1933 in Minneota, MN to Jules and Mary DeKaiser.  Elaine was a past President of American Legion Womens Auxillary Post 473 in Chicago.  She retired from CPS Wholesale after many years of service.  She is survived by her children Jaime (Robert) Watson, Tracy (Ray) Watson-Horner, Robin Dixon, and Kevin Watson. Her grandchildren Daniel Wright, Jeffrey (Katie) Wright, Analiese (Derrick) Brown, Adrienne Brown, Joshua Vaughn, Aragorn “AJ” Horner, Ryley Horner, Rae “Annie” Horner, Taylor Horner, Jensen Horner, and Adam (Laura) Dixon, and her great-grandchildren Hayley Roseberry, Kayelyn Nave.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Shelley, and her infant son Jordan James.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a funeral service commencing at 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Charlene Rockenbach

Charlene L. Rockenbach (nee Wray), 90, a resident of Grayslake, passed away August 1, 2017.  She was born August 19, 1926 in Waukegan to Charles and Irene Wray (nee Bacigalupo). Charlene loved being a nurse.  She was a member of the United Protestant Church of Grayslake, belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution and loved traveling in the family RV.  Charlene was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Charlene is survived by her children, Jean Topping of Alabama, Sally Kelly of Illinois, Laura Behrensmeier of Illinois; her stepchildren, Pam (Charles) Relitz, Dennis (Jean) Rockenbach; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Joanne Lawrence of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, William Behrensmeier; 2nd husband, Raymond Rockenbach; sister, Beverly Strauss.

A visitation is scheduled for Monday, August 7, 2017 from 10:00am until 11:00am with service commencing at 11:00am at THE UNITED PROTESTANT CHURCH OF GRAYSLAKE, 54 South Whitney St, Grayslake, IL 60030 with Rev. Patricia L. Timmons

Patricia Loise Timmons (nee Gaughan) passed away Monday, July 31, 2017, after a valiant battle with cancer.  She was born January 8, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Loise and Gerard Gaughan.  For 54 years she was a devoted wife to Stephen E. Timmons, Sr.; a loving mother to Stephen Jr. (Ligita), Debra Plant (Robert), and Sharon Neustadt (Mark).  She was a caring daughter-in-law to the late Isabelle and William Timmons. Her grandchildren remember her as a fun-loving grandmother — Drew and Kyle Timmons, Tomas and Mindaugas Uzkurenas, Caitlyn, Megan, Sara, and Erin Plant, and Lauren and Dexter Neustadt.  Fond sister to Frances Solka (Bruce), (the late) Elizabeth, Mary Coyne (Timothy), and Peggy Brink (Thomas); a dear sister-in-law to Barbara Bame (the late James) and Jenifer Hahn (Mark); cherished by many nieces and nephews; she shall be deeply missed.

She loved her family, Thanksgiving, flowers, puzzles, and movies.  She had an eclectic taste in music which she shared with her family.  She could smell a bad bottle of milk 3 days before it went bad.  Her life was full of love, faith, and kindness.

Forrest M. DeGraff

Forrest M. DeGraff, 87, a lifelong resident of Grayslake, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Journeycare in Barrington, IL.  He was born November 6, 1929 in Grayslake to Dorothy and Anton DeGraff.  Forrest was the President of the first class of Grayslake High School in 1947.  He joined the US Marine Corps in 1948 and served during the Korean War as a Sergeant and was a graduate from the Molar Barber College. Forrest retired from the Lake County Department of Transportation as a Manager of the Sign and Traffic Department after 31 years of service.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bank collecting, restoring antique trunks, woodcarving, doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, going to casinos, traveling, and tinkering in his workshop.  Forrest was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, but most of all the White Sox.  He was a member of the Grayslake Historical Society and served as a Boy Scout Leader.  Forrest is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joy (nee: Francis), whom he wed in 1957, his children Elizabeth (John) Mullen, Douglas DeGraff, and Ann (Richard) Coles, his grandchildren Jessica (Kelly) Mullen, Kerri (Mark) Thompson, Michael Mullen, and Kelly (Andrew) Nicholson, Scott Coles, Zachary Coles, and Alex Coles, and his sister Shirley Eckhoff.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Leonard.  A visitation and memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 10:00am until 1:00pm with the memorial service commencing at 1:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Pearl R. Lambert, 73, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Round Lake Beach.  She was born June 30, 1944 in Casper, WY to Raymond and Pearl Rowling.  Pearl loved sewing and crafting.  Pearl is survived by her children Shari (Andy) Levandowski, Jack (Sara) Lambert, Michael (Mary) Edwards, and Raymond (Liz) Edwards, her 8 grandchildren, her 7 great-grandchildren, and her sister Muriel Morris.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Leslie Waumbugh, and her sister Nancy Lewey.  A memorial visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5:00pm until 7:30pm with a memorial service commencing at 7:30pm at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Katherine J. Wandall

Katherine J. Wandall, 80, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017, at her home.  She was born September 11, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Walter and Kathlyn Sheahan.  Katherine is survived by her children John (Carol) Wandall, Mary Kay (Bill) Sutton, and Matthew (Michelle) Wandall, her grandchildren Lindsay, Mitchell, Clarice (Travis) Warren, Caroline Sutton, Melody Sutton, Lucas, and Sarah, and her sisters Rosemary Friel and Roberta Reinhold.  She was preceded in death by her parents and she was the grateful wife of Jack.  A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 3:00pm until 9:00pm at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Margaret Fischer

Margaret R. Fischer, 101, a resident of Zion, IL, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 in Zion.  She was born May 29, 1916 in Kokomo, Indiana to Able and Sarah (nee: Cornet) Parker.  Margaret grew up on the family farm while living through the Great Depression.  She worked at Western Southern Life Insurance in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She moved to Illinois to be closer to her children and grandchildren. 

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Laura Branstetter; grandchildren, Lisa (Don) Jarrett, Robert (Connie) Branstetter, Valerie (Fred) Wicinski, Claudette (Stan) Gorsuch, Jackie (Frank) Kersey, Patti Holub; great grandchildren, Brian (Megan), Sarah, Mathew (April), Chelsea, Justin (Brandel), Kaity (Eric), Rebecca (Felipe), Courtney (Jourdan), Megan (Scott), Emily and James; and 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lemoine Ball, Charles Houze, and Robert Fischer; daughter, Sharon Lee James; 3 sisters; 8 brothers; great granddaughter Laura Lynn and Son’s-in-law Jack James and Eldon Branstetter.

James L. Osgaard

James L. Osgaard, 88, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  He was born April 14, 1929 in LaCrosse, WI to Leslie and Elsie Osgaard.  James was a veteran having served for the Air Force.  He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Round Lake.  James is survived by his children Claudia (Rick) Niemann, Linda (Ross) Hart, Christine (Jeff Schultz) Skenandore, Robbin Annala, Cathleen Richards, Keith (Dawn) Schulz, and Colleen (John) Mitchell, his 12 grandchildren, and his numerous great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife June Osgaard.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm with a funeral service commencing at 6:00pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church 420 N. Cynthia Russeau

Cynthia Russeau, age 52, formerly of Gurnee, passed away at her home in Aldie, Virginia on Monday, July 17, 2017.  She was born on November 26, 1964 in Pekin, Illinois.  She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and was a loyal Packers fan.  She worked for Abbott for 15 years.  She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Trevor) Weidner of Chicago and Katherine of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; her parents, Donald (Connie) Joswick; one cousin, Kevin (Vickie) Martin; step-sister Michele (Mike) Kauffman; and half-sister, Angelina Pelini Bloome. Charlotte B. Eyre

Mrs. Charlotte B. Eyre, (nee Mogg) 96, passed peacefully on July 7th 2017, in Newnan ,Georgia. Former Lake County resident of 77 years, she was born in Gages Lake, Illinois on July 25th 1920, daughter of the late John and Bertha Mogg. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles N. Eyre September 30th 1987 and by her sister Dorothy Swanson.  She is survived by one daughter Linda (Richard) Petersen of Grayslake Illinois, two sons, Brian (Lynda) Eyre Abbeville Georgia and Bruce (Susan) Eyre Sharpsburg Georgia. 9 grand children, Gregory Eyre, Bradley(Cleta) Eyre, Kristin Eyre, Jason (Jessica) Eyre, Kyle (Jean) Eyre, Julie (Joe) Fischer, Wesley (Ronnie) Eyre, Brandon (Hayley) Eyre, Taylor Eyre, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces , nephews and cousins. Private Funeral service will be held on July 13th 2017 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E.
