John Gale Plotner, age 71, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL. He was born April 14, 1947 in Kokomo, IN to Warren and Jean Plotner. John was a member of UPC of Grayslake. He attended Indiana University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He worked as a teacher and guidance counselor in Wilmette. Walter Adrian Shank Sr., 94, a resident of Wildwood, IL on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Spring Meadows in Libertyville, IL. He was June 11, 1923 in Tunnelton, WV to Walter and Anna (nee: Blotchett) Shank. Walter was a member of Local 250 for over 50 years. He was a highly skilled craftsman and worked professionally as a carpenter. William P. Dennis, 80, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Riverwoods, IL. He was born December 1, 1937 in Oak Park, IL to Nathaniel and Mary Dennis. Bill was a Marine Corps veteran having served during the Korean War. He worked as a Lake County Deputy and a bus driver for Durham Bus Company for many years. Bill enjoyed swimming, spending time with his grandchildren, and visiting his vacation home in Texas. Virgil (Dean) Hughes
Virgil (Dean) Hughes, 81, a resident of Grayslake, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. He was born on October 20, 1936 in Des Moines, IA. Dean’s humor and love for his family was well known and admirable to all that knew him.
Dean served in the US Army from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1959. He worked for the government for 30 years as a civil servant.
Dean was survived by his daughters Diana (Tim) Brya and Patricia (Ken) Bundy his grandchildren Christine (Nick) Read, Nicole (Bob) Stanley, and Wade (Nicole) Bundy, his great-grandchildren Kiana Read, Tyler Read, Rileigh Berg, Maddox Berg, Ethan Bundy, Noah Bundy, Emerson Stanley and Mason Bundy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Masako, parents and siblings Raymond and Cecilia.

Raymond Nackoney, age 74, passed away on April 19, 2018. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Balch); loving father of Lauren, Cristin (Auggie) Negele, David and Donald; son of the late Walter and Genevieve Nackoney; brother of Denny (Judy) Nackoney and Ruth (Bob) McCullough; brother-in-law of George (Allyson) Balch, the late Robert Balch, Bonnie Balch, Mary Ann (Lee) Erb; and loving uncle to many nieces and a nephew. Born in Philadelphia on June 16, 1943. Graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Mathematical Physics and University of Chicago with a PhD in Astrophysics. Associate Professor at Loyola University Chicago for his career. He had an insatiable intellect and a love of the outdoors. Most of all, he cherished his time with family. Julian “Jack” B. Hale
Julian (Jack) Hale passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Northwestern Hospital in Lake Forest, IL following a short illness. Jack was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 4, 1933, but lived most of his life in the Chicagoland area, most recently in Grayslake, IL. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy as a submariner. He was an electrical engineer and principal in a number of small, innovative electronics firms in the area.
He is survived by his daughters Julie (Tim) Deal, Barbara (Gary) Engstrom, four grandchildren – Chelsea, Troy, Erik (Sara), Kari (Marc), three great grandchildren – Eliza, Adaline, Trey, a sister- Isabelle Weaver, a niece – Lee and four nephews – Terry, Grant, Scott and Doug.
Jack’s cremation will be at the Strang Funeral Home followed by a private, family memorial.
