Dorothy B. Samuel Carrillo, age 61, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Journey Care in Barrington. He was born June 21, 1956 in El Parral, Zacatecas, Mexico to Irineo and Josefa Carrillo. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake. Samuel is survived by his wife, Maria, whom he married 42 years ago in August of 1976 in Waukegan; his children, Lorena (Jose) Carranza of Palatine, Leticia (Jaime) Gonzalez of Volo, and Claudia (Richard) Free of Round Lake; his grandchildren, Cynthia Lainez of Volo, Edward Carranza of Palatine, Alex Carranza of Palatine, Julianna Gonzalez of Volo, and Alessandra Ava Free of Round Lake; his eleven brothers and sisters, Otelia (Tom) Flores, Edelmira Carrillo, Amelia (Juan) Ponce, Jesus (Ofelia) Carrillo, Raul (Dolores) Carrillo, Santos (Consuelo) Carrillo, Abraham (Josefa) Carrillo, Josepha (Manuel) Cervantes, Esperanza (Joaquin) Rojas, Gloria (Eloy) Ramos and Blanca (Fernando) Gallegos; and many nieces and nephews and other family members. Francisco Hernandez, age 88, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at his home. He was born in Mexico on January 22, 1930. Francisco was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Round Lake. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Aurora Hernandez; 9 children, 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Saul Hernandez-Rios; grandson, Roy Lopez; parents; and grandparents.

Walter Adrian Shank Sr., 94, a resident of Wildwood, IL on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Spring Meadows in Libertyville, IL.  He was June 11, 1923 in Tunnelton, WV to Walter and Anna (nee: Blotchett) Shank.  Walter was a member of Local 250 for over 50 years.  He was a highly skilled craftsman and worked professionally as a carpenter.  Walter could fix anything, enjoyed fishing, was a barbeque king, and was an expert horseshoe player.  Walter is survived by his children Ronald (Kay) Morgan of Tampa, FL, Walter (Eva) Shank of Lexington, KY, Mike Shank of Waukegan, IL and Larry Shank of Wildwood, IL, his four grandchildren, his one great-grandchild, and his siblings Louise Vickers of Morgan Town, WV and Betty (Jim) Potts of Memphis, TN.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Helen Shank.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Friday, May 18, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm with a funeral service commencing at 1:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Richard “RF” D. Fitch, 71, a resident of Lake Villa, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at his home.  He was born February 20, 1947 in Pineville, WV to Lance and Nellie Fitch.  Richard enjoyed karaoke, hunting, boating, and working on cars.  He was retired and worked for Ravenswood Hospital and Neurological Orthopedic Institute of Chicago.  Richard loved Miller High Life, the Bears, helping other people, and his family.  Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda, his children Sherry (Thomas) Lill, Richard (Denise) Fitch, and Tracey Fitch, his grandchildren Aaron, Jacob, and Conor Lill, and Jack Zilla Fitch, his great-grandchildren Damien and Kaelynn Keith, his siblings Jerry (Janet) Fitch and Debbie (Kenny) Heath, his sister-in-law Kathy Fitch, and his numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donnie Fitch, his sister Cheryl Khoury, and his nephew Tim Fitch.  A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. William P. Dennis, 80, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Riverwoods, IL.  He was born December 1, 1937 in Oak Park, IL to Nathaniel and Mary Dennis.  Bill was a Marine Corps veteran having served during the Korean War.  He worked as a Lake County Deputy and a bus driver for Durham Bus Company for many years.  Bill enjoyed swimming, spending time with his grandchildren, and visiting his vacation home in Texas.  Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judi, his children Christine (John) Groth, Richard (Caroline) Dennis, William Dennis, and Steve (Jennifer) Dennis, his six grandchildren, and his six great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers.  A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Christopher J. Julian (Jack) Hale passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Northwestern Hospital in Lake Forest, IL following a short illness. Jack was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 4, 1933, but lived most of his life in the Chicagoland area, most recently in Grayslake, IL. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy as a submariner. He was an electrical engineer and principal in a number of small, innovative electronics firms in the area.
He is survived by his daughters Julie (Tim) Deal, Barbara (Gary) Engstrom, four grandchildren – Chelsea, Troy, Erik (Sara), Kari (Marc), three great grandchildren – Eliza, Adaline, Trey, a sister- Isabelle Weaver, a niece – Lee and four nephews – Terry, Grant, Scott and Doug.
Jack’s cremation will be at the Strang Funeral Home followed by a private, family memorial.
In lieu of flowers or donations, gather with family and friends and celebrate life in his honor. Jack would appreciate that.
