He was born in Chicago on Nov. 5, 1937 to the now late Richard and Mary {nee Sarkisian} Najarian. George worked for Jet LithoColor in Downer’s Grove for over 30 years, retiring in 2009. He was an active member of the Mundelein Citizen’s Police Academy. Steven T. Carrier
Steven T. Carrier, PhD passed away on August 20, 2013 at Midwest Palliative and Hospice Care Center, Glenview Illinois.
He was born on November 8, 1938, in Havre, Montana, and graduated from Havre High School in 1957. During high school he served in the United States Army Reserves. Five days after graduating high school, he joined and served in the United States Marines for three years. He then completed a four year apprenticeship receiving a Journeyman Electronics Mechanic Certificate from the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, California. During the Cuban Missile Crisis he volunteered in the United States Air Force Reserves for one year.
In 1967 he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Mathematics from California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California. In 1975 he received his Doctorate in Statistics from The Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Steve’s professional affiliations included the American Statistical Association and The Texas A&M University Statistical Association
Steve’s fraternal memberships included Kappa Mu Epsilon, Phi Kappa Phi and Delta Phi Omega.
His career was spent in the Pharmaceutical Biostatistics and Drug Development Industry, retiring from Abbott Laboratories.
His hobby was designing and working with stained glass. He enjoyed gardening, was a great cook and an avid book reader. He was a loyal fan of the University of Parkside, Wisconsin girl’s soccer team, a Chicago White Sox fan, a Chicago Bears fan, enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, and traveling. His greatest pleasure was spending time with both his immediate and extended family and he cared greatly for everyone in his life. Above all, he cherished the time spent with the family and was always present at every milestone and important events in their lives.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Carol (Nelson) and Andrew Carrier.
Steve is survived by his spouse, Mary Ann, the love of his life, and they spent many wonderful years together. Loving father of Brenda (Claudio) Gratton and Jennifer (Ellis) Ahrens. Cherished stepfather of Troy (Leslie) Pencak and Dawn (Lee) Larson; caring brothers Rod (Sharon) and John (Terry) Carrier; grandchildren Taylor, Peyton, Elena and Paolo, grandchildren by heart, Nathan, Adam and Rachael, step-grandchildren Samantha (Frank) Sammartino and Zach Klocek, and many other relatives and friends.

Roy Ebert
Roy Ebert, a Grayslake (Saddlebrook Farms) resident, passed away on Aug. 16, 2013. He was born in Chicago on Mar. 21, 1926. Roy was a wonderful man, dedicated husband, caring father, expert humorist, and one-of-a-kind guy’s guy and mechanic. He always had a big smile on his face, never sweated the small stuff, and seemed to always appreciate the little things in life. Roy was a devout Catholic since converting for his marriage to Irene {nee Kawa} Ebert, his first wife of 61 years, now deceased. Roy’s passion and profession was automobiles. He began tinkering with cars in the alley behind the family’s apartment building before he could drive. He spent his whole life fixing, collecting and selling cars, and building auto body repair businesses in Chicago, Niles, and Evanston. He proudly claimed that his former star, Lehigh Auto Body, is still a successful business today. He saved many old cars and parts from the junkyard. He was also an avid gardener, perpetually planting, watering, trimming, and tearing out his landscaping. He was fortunate enough to check off most of the things on his bucket list including establishing a winter home in Florida and moving into a new home for him and his wife Audrey {nee Kraft and Healy} who he married on Mar. 21, 2009, and completing an addition on his building to store his extensive junk collection. He touched all the lives of the people he knew in very special ways. Also surviving Roy are his children Diane (Terry) Ebert-May, David Ebert, Darrell (Linda) Ebert, and Darlene (Tom Bangert) Ebert; his four grandchildren Kathryn (Jon) Weins, Ann (Tim) Warner, Amy Ebert, and David May; and two great-grandchildren Paige and Ryan Warner. Dorothy E. Hansen (nee: Thompsen) passed away on July 24, 2013, after a brief illness, she was 90. She was born in Grayslake, IL on November 6, 1922, to Peter H. and Anna M. Thompsen. She married John “Jack” E. Hansen on June 27, 1942, at St. Andrew’s Church in Grayslake and they were married for 54 years until his death in 1996. Dale E. Worden, a resident of Antioch, passed away Saturday July 20, 2013 at the age of 81. He was born November 27, 1932 in Racine, WI to Claude and Ruth (nee: Corder) Worden. Dale was a Marine Corp veteran having served during the Korean War. After the war Dale became interested in cooking and had retired after having worked as a chef for over 50 years. He was also a local businessman owning several restaurants: Dale & Val’s Ahoy Mates Bar and Restaurant, the Sequoit Harbor Restaurant, and a campground with a restaurant, all on the Chain of Lakes in the Antioch area, and continued later as the chef at Neutrauter’s Restaurant. The good Dr. Dulce Milanes, an 88-year-old Lake Forest resident, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013 at Lake Forest Hospital. Dr. Milanes was born in Havana, Cuba on June 19, 1925 to the now late Eladio and Amalia {nee Garcia} Milanes. Dr. Milanes was an OB/GYN, maintaining a well known office on Center Street in Grayslake, delivering nearly 17,000 babies since 1954 at area hospitals such as Condell, St. Therese (now Vista East), and Victory (now Vista West). She actually holds the United States record, surpassing 15,800 deliveries in 2002. Dr. Milanes loved her chosen profession and the decades of patients, deriving true joy out of helping people for so many years. She was the loving mother of Sergio Fuentes, Dulce (Robert) Brandt, and Matthew (Catherine) Fuentes; the adoring grandmother of Michael Brandt, Dulce Fuentes, and Jennifer Fuentes; the dear sister of Eladia A.
