Lawrence H. Ziegler, 88, of Libertyville, IL and formerly of Murphysboro, IL passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville after a recent heart attack. Lawrence was born in Murphysboro, IL on March 22, 1926 to Henry Ziegler and Martha Rodewald, and at 18 years of age was drafted to serve in World War II as a Marine. Lawrence “Larry” is survived by a brother Harry Ziegler and sister Alma Andress, his children Mary (John) Francis, Jeff (Sue) Ziegler, Denise (Dan Bethel) Johnson, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Lawrence was preceded in death by his loving wife, Winifred “Winnie” Ziegler on May 19, 2014, his sons, Larry Ziegler and Steve Muenchausen, as well as his parents and four siblings. Larry and Winnie retired from their jobs at the Great Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago, IL and enjoyed traveling across the USA for several years visiting many interesting places. They had been living at Spring Meadows in Libertyville, and prior to that in Grayslake and Murphysboro, IL. They also lived in Florida and Tennessee. Eric M. Brown, 47, of Fox Lake, IL passed away Sunday June 15, 2014. He was born July 18, 1966 in Atlantic, IA to Richard and Sharon Brown. Eric was a graduate of Drake University and Syracuse Law. He loved boating, skiing, and golfing with his family. Eric worked as an attorney and was a partner at Aronberg, Goldgehn, Davis, and Garmisa. Dorothy Grace Buland, 88, a resident of Grayslake, passed away on June 8, 2014 at home. She was born on April 9, 1926 to Arthur, Ruby Bruce nee Willie. Dorothy loved to sew, bake, crochet, knit, she really enjoyed being a home maker. Richard D. Blanchard, 83, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Sunday May 11, 2014. He was born May 6, 1931 in Grand Forks, ND to John & Delores Blanchard. Richard was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the US Air Force. Richard graduated from Sacred Heart Academy now Shanley High School in Fargo, ND in 1949. He was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church and an enrolled member of the Minnesota Chippewa (Ojibwe) Tribe White Earth Reservation. Richard worked for Armour Foods for 42 years. Grayslake, IL — George Francke, age 88, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at Condell Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Francke is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elaine (nee Jacobsen), two loving daughters Cheryl (Gordon) Persha, and Janice Francke, and his much loved grandson Gordon Persha, Jr. He is preceded in death by his father George Francke, Sr., mother Olga, and brother William.
George grew-up in Chicago, IL. He was a veteran of War II, where he served in the U.S. Army. He was a cement mason by trade. He enjoyed gardening and building & flying model airplanes. He was quiet and unassuming, but he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Naomi G. Kruse, 93, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Wednesday May 7, 2014. She was born March 24, 1921 in Colby, WI to Alphonse and Gertrude (nee: Kaiser) Schmitt. Naomi moved from Colby, WI to Evanston following graduation to work as a restaurant hostess and nanny where she met and married Harry. They settled in Des Plaines for a period before moving to Grayslake in 1971. She was a member of St. Gilbert Church for over 40 years. Naomi was an accomplished seamstress and loved to crochet and knit.
