Harry G. Kruse

Harry G. Kruse, 96, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Friday August 15, 2014. He was born July 4, 1918 in Des Plaines, IL to Harry E. and Frieda (nee: Busse) Kruse. Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Naomi (nee: Schmitt). Harry married Naomi in 1948 in Chicago following serving in the Army in WWII. They settled in Des Plaines in 1948 before moving to Grayslake in 1971. He and Naomi were members of St. Gilbert Church in Grayslake. Harry was very proud of his Army service in Europe and North Africa in World War II and was an avid sports fan. Harry was known for his good nature, kind smile, and loved visiting with his family. Harry is survived by his children Nancy (Ed) Sanaghan, Don (Kathy), Steve (Sibby), Bob (Katie), Tom (Kathy), and Mary (Lou) Lettenmair, his 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Howard “Bud” and Dalton. Phyllis A. Lindstrom

Phyllis A. Lindstrom, 86, a resident of Libertyville and formerly of Wildwood, passed away Wednesday August 13, 2014. She was born May 30, 1928 in Chicago, IL to John and Hildagarde Anderson. Phyllis had worked for Rockenbach for 20 years. She was an avid Bears and Cubs fan and had many great memories with the Bunco ladies. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 65 years, John, her children Joleen Gialds, John Lindstrom, and Jeffrey Lindstrom, her dear grandchildren Douglas (Alisa) Gialds, Jonathan Gialds, and David Gialds, her dear great-grandchildren James and Lucas Gialds. She was preceded in death by her parents. Wilbur “Nick” Lincoln Nickerson

Nick passed easy at the age of 85 on Thursday August 14, 2014 in his home in Wildwood, IL surrounded by those who love him the most; JoAnn Legault “Pj”, loving and caring companion for over 30 years, Steve “Fizzy”, Kerri “The Nayba”, Erin, Steven, Brandon “Monster”, especially Logan, his Big Boy, and Dahlah who never left his side.  He was born February 12, 1929 in Fall River, MA, raised by his grandmother at Westport Factory until the age of 5 and grew up in Little Compton, RI.  He is survived by his son Donald L. (Shirlee) Nickerson, a grandson Gregory, a granddaughter Christina McKenzie and 2 great-grandsons Matthew and Michael Mckenzie.  He will be tremendously missed by his Oklahoma family and skating friends, and other family and friends too numerous to mention.  He worked for ComEd for 37and ½ years as a Lineman Special and has enjoyed his 27 and ½ years of retirement.  He was a die hard roller skater all of his life, skating his last dance in April.  The Old Man has requested that all come to celebrate his life with a cup of coffee and a bowl of soup at Mrs. V’s Restaurant, 855 E. Rollins Rd. Delores M. Powell

Delores M. Powell, age 85, of Wildwood, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in Libertyville. She was born in Chicago on January 16, 1929. Delores was the Lake County Extension Craft Director. Robyn Linette Fulmer

Robyn Linette Fulmer, age 24, of Wauconda, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 in Fort Worth, TX while battling with addiction. She was born April 3, 1990 in Elmhurst to Rich Fulmer and Patricia Shaw. Robyn loved the Bears and Blackhawks. She also loved playing the guitar and long boarding. She was also an amazing point guard for the Wauconda Bulldogs. She is survived by her parents and her sisters, Jenny, of Racine, WI and Hannah of Wauconda. She was preceded in death by her Nanni, Pat Dabbs. Robyn will be greatly missed by her immediate family—Rich, Patty, Vickie, Jenny, Hannah and Lyric. Geraldine M. (DeJong) Roetman, age 90, a resident of Lindenhurst, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014. She was born August 11, 1923 in Edgerton, MN. Geraldine was a member of the United Protestant Church in Grayslake. Mary Anne Conlin

Mary Anne Conlin, 79, a resident of Gurnee, passed away Friday August 8, 2014. She was born January 21, 1935 in Lake Forest to Walter and Eleanor Burke. Mary had worked for Woodland Elementary School for 34 years as a 5th Grade Teacher. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Bible study group. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Wisconsin. Mary is survived by her daughter Suzanne (Cory) Leafblad, her grandchildren Abigail Marie Leafblad and Samuel Leafblad, her brother Buz (Jean) Burke, her niece Liz (Glenn) Reedy, and her nephews Jeff Burke and Sam (Mona) Reimers. Susan Hindmon

Susan Hindmon (nee: Mangiaracina), 64, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Monday July 28, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. She was born July 11, 1950 in Chicago to Sam and Dorothy Mangiaracina. Susan had worked for over 16 years at Bell Flavor and Fragrances and loved to collect dolls. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Robert T. Heskin

Robert T. Heskin, 68, a resident of Grayslake, passed away suddenly Sunday July 27, 2014. He was born January 8, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Stephen and Genevieve (nee: Green) Heskin. Robert served for the Chicago Police Department for 33 years. He was an Army veteran having served in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Gilbert Church. Robert is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jennie, his children Victoria (Stephen) Sears and Robert Scott (Sharon) Heskin, his grandchildren Cristina, June, and Leslie Sears, and Matthew, Sara, Brian, Megan and Joey Heskin, his great-grandchildren Rei and Aiden, his brother William Heskin, his nephews Brian and Christopher Heskin, and his in-laws James and Chloe Martin. Dyanne K. Earley

Dyanne Earley
October 13, 1937- July 24, 2014
Dyanne Kathleen Earley (Teasdale) Mundelein, IL, died Thursday evening July 24, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She retired in 2001 as the Artistic Director of the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre in Lincolnshire, IL; a title she had held since 1980. She was with the company for 25 years. During her tenure at The Marriott, she directed countless productions, including THE FIRST, MY FAIR LADY, WINDY CITY, and MISS SAIGON (garnering Joseph Jefferson Nominations for Best Direction of a Musical for each of them). She was the first woman to be nominated for direction of a musical by the Jeff committee. In addition to that distinction, she had a passion for producing and directing new musicals, writing children’s theatre, and is credited with launching some of the biggest names in Chicago theatre.  Dyanne was preceded in death by husband William Louis Earley. She is survived by four sons, Thomas Earley (Susan), Mark Earley (Sandy Krapf), David Earley, and Kevin Earley (Julie Ann Emery); as well as siblings James Teasdale (Nancy), Lee Fratantuno (Mike deceased), and Beth D’Isa (Tim); and two grandchildren Samantha Earley and Donovan Earley. An open to the public Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 6:30PM at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort. Henry Charles deGroh II, 80, of Grayslake, passed away June 28, 2014 at his home in Grayslake. He was born November 23, 1933 in Chicago to Henry Sr. and Maire (nee: Springhorn) deGroh. Henry was a member of the American Legion Post 659, the Grayslake Exchange Club, the Highland Lake POA, the Village Theater Palatine, the Englewood Lions, the Grayslake Historical Society, and KIVA. Denise M. Schell

Denise M. Schell (nee: Schoenberger), 58, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Monday July 14, 2014. She was born August 1, 1955 in Nashville, TN to Frank and Mildred Schell. Denise was a talented quilter, crafter, an amazing cook, and an extremely hard worker. Denise was the beloved mother to Ken (Sabrina) Schoenberger, Kevin (Elizabeth) Schoenberger, and Kris (Moriah) Schoenberger, adoring grandma to Hunter, and loving sister to Gregg (Sue) Schell, Maurice (Nancy) Schell, and Michael (Kathy) Schell, and wonderful aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard Weiss

Leonard M. Weiss, 74, of Grayslake, Illinois passed away Friday, July 11th, 2014 at Midwest Palliative and Hospice CareCenter in Glenview, Illinois surrounded by family. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 8th, 1939, and made his home in Grayslake for over 48 years. He was an electrical engineer and owned his own business until his retirement. Leonard had many hobbies including, building and programming computers, ham radio, and boating on Third Lake. He also enjoyed travel and spending time in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters Julie (Jeff) Wynveen and Carolyn (Scott) Farnam; and son, Kurt (Julie Camarato) Weiss; 7 grandchildren: Jocelyn, Jacob and Jessica Wynveen, Kyle and Kate Farnam, Sophia and Ella Weiss. He was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Kurt Weiss.

Visitation will be at Strang Funeral Chapel 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake from 4 – 8pm on Tuesday, July 15th,, 2014. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10am on Wednesday, July 16th at St. Gilbert’s Church in Grayslake followed by internment at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.

Richard B. Schmidt, 53, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Wednesday July 9, 2014. He was born March 23, 1961 in North Chicago, IL to Robert and Jackie Schmidt. Richard was a longtime employee of Maclean Solutions in Mundelein, IL. He loved watching sports especially the Chicago Bears. Liz worked for Baxter for 27 years. She loved to travel and shop.
