Obituary's Biography:
Michael Robert Kropp, 75, of Round Lake Beach passed away on January 23, 2024 at Advocate Condell Medical Center after a respiratory illness.
Mike was a caring and generous man whose gruff exterior and wry sense of humor kept a loose cover on his deep well of feelings. He is survived by his wife, Liz, sister-in-law, Margaret, ten nieces and nephews, and fourteen grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Margaret Kropp, his sister, Dahli Kroplewski and his brother, Richard. He grew up in the Lakeview and Albany Park neighborhoods of Chicago and attended DePaul Academy High School. Mike served his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War, and had many different jobs throughout his life.
A memorial visitation and service is scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 3:00pm until 4:00pm with the service commencing at 4:00pm. For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.

Liz, I’m so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. I’m glad I got to talk to him after all the years had passed since we served in Vietnam. I’m the one called Skull, Mike, Joe Lee along with others were once all together as one. My thoughts and prayers are with you and family.
