Mary I. Ruiz, 74, a resident of Fox Lake, IL, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Journeycare in Barrington, IL. She was born May 10, 1947 in Houston, TX to Augustin and Concepcion Reyna. Mary was an outgoing, friendly person, that enjoyed reading in her spare time. She was always the life of the party and enjoyed making friends wherever she went. Mary is survived by her daughters Juanita (Nicolas) Rodriguez and Catherine (Joseph) Mojica, her grandchildren Moises (Tracey) Rodriguez, Cesar (Sully Vega) Rodriguez, Ricardo Rodriguez, Roman Rodriguez, Joseph (Mandy) Garcia, Angelo Garcia, and Clara Garcia, her great-grandchildren Neil, Ethan, Alessandra, Addison, Nicolas, and Ruben Rodriguez, and Miguel and Armando John Garcia, her sisters Theresa (Francisco) Gallegos, Rebecca (Manuel) Arellano, Alicia Reyna, and Ignacia (Jose) Olvera, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Louise Rico, her brother Paul Reyna, her husband Ismael Ruiz, and her nephew Paul Reyna. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 20, 2021 from 4:00pm until 9:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 1:00pm at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will be held privately.
