Mary Ellen Meskel

Obituary's Biography:

Mary Ellen Meskel, R.N., 78, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away October 28, 2021 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  She was born July 13, 1943 in Plainfield, NJ to Robert and Helen Smith.  Mary Ellen was a graduate of North Plainfield (NJ) High School, and the School of Nursing of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  She was past-president of the Chicago Metro Chapter of the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) and served as president the year it won a major professional award in 2011.  Mary also achieved board certification in urology (CURN).  She was an office urology nurse for Dr. Dennis Pessis in Lake Forest until her retirement.

Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tom, her children Tracie (Patrick Kilbane) Meskel, Pat (Tricia) Meskel, and Nancy (Sean) Feely, her grandchildren Nick, Cassie, and Lily Meskel, Emmett, Seamus, and Nolan Feely, her siblings Bob (Susan) Smith, Richard Smith, and Carolyn Smith, and her sister-in-law Judy Meskel.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  A memorial service and visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the mass commencing at 11:00am at St. Mary of Annunciation 22333 W. Erhart Rd.
