Lucille Ellen Wrate (nee: Burge)
Obituary's Biography:
Lucille Wrate, 91, of Beach Park passed away on October 12, 2015 at Rolling Hills Manor, Zion. She was born February 12, 1924 in Grayslake, IL. She attended Immanuel Church for most of her adult life where she was a Sunday School teacher for some 20 years and helped in the nursery. Lucille loved to camp with her husband Bill. They were members of the Lake County Rambling Rigs and the Badger Camping Club of Wisconsin. After retiring they spent winters in Florida with their friends. Lucille was also an avid Nascar fan and member of the Matt Kensenth Fan Club. Matt dedicated a brick in her name at his museum in Cambridge Wisconsin in 2013. Lucille is most remembered though for her dedication as a caring mother and grandmother. For seven months she spent every day at her daughter Carolyn’s bedside before her passing. She was truly the best mom one could have. She leaves sons, William R. (Barbara) Wrate of Lake Villa and Jeffrey (Deborah) Wrate of Twin Lakes, WI; grandchildren Rick (Sharon) Culver, Bryan (Lisa) Culver, Jennifer (James) Sherrill, Joshua Wrate, Joanna (Don) Pearson, Christopher (Tauren) Wrate, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Emma Burge, sister Arlene Tucker, brother Leonard Burge, daughter Carolyn Culver, and her husband of 57 years, William D. Wrate in 1999. A memorial service and life celebration will be held at 10:30am Friday, November 6, 2015 at Immanuel Church 2300 N. Dilleys Rd. Gurnee, IL 60031.
