Obituary's Biography:
LeRoy Mathias Braun, age 93, a resident of Lindenhurst, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 19, 1926 in Evanston to Leo Bernard and Marie (Henrich) Braun. LeRoy loved the Blackhawks, the Bears and Notre Dame football. He also liked watching old time Westerns and listening to Big Band music, especially Lawrence Welk. He is survived by his children, Kathy (Rick) Gehrke of Lake Villa and Trudy (Will “Rumdumb”) Cray of Lindenhurst; his grandchildren, Jeff (Christie) Gehrke of Trevor, WI, Caryn (Jeremy) Redman of Ingleside, Mike Gehrke of Antioch, Brian (Kyrie) Gehrke of Carpentersville, Tim Gehrke of Lake Villa, Will (fiance Jenny) Cray of Franklin, WI, and Christina (Pano) Cray of Deerfield; and his great-grandchildren, Mckayla Gehrke, Amelia Gehrke, Parker Redman, Olivia Redman and Oliver Gehrke; and his sister-in-law, Laura Braun. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dolores, his brother, Leo, and his cousin, Jim Steiner. All services were held privately. Arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. Donations in his name may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
