Obituary's Biography:
Kenneth W. Worthey, 65, of Grayslake passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 with his family by his side. Ken was born on January 20, 1950 in Newton, Illinois, to Frank and Rosemary Worthey (nee Erwin). Ken was a proud Vietnam War veteran, having served two combat tours, the second of which was with the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment (Blackhorse). He knew a little about a lot, from woodworking and mechanics to investing and homeopathic remedies. He is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Donna, who he married in Bellwood, Illinois, on September 6, 1975. Ken is also survived by his son Jonathan of Grayslake and his siblings Linda Keller of Newton, Illinois, Ronald of Wausau, Wisconsin, and Mary (Bob) Lafferty of Genoa City, Wisconsin. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers in law, Joe and Daniel. There will be a public visitation for Ken on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5-9 PM at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, Illinois 60030. On Thursday, August 6, 2015, final visitation at Strang Funeral Chapel will begin at 9:30AM followed by a funeral Mass at 11AM at St Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, Illinois, 60030. Burial will follow at Avon Cemetery at Route 83 and Shorewood Drive, Grayslake, Illinois 60030. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Blackhorse Scholarship, 11th ACVVC, 571 Ditchley Road, Kilmarnock, Virginia 22482.
