Kenneth L. Grosvenor, Jr.
Obituary's Biography:
Kenneth Leroy Grosvenor, Jr., age 82, a resident of Grayslake, IL passed away on January 7, 2024 at his home. He was born on December 30, 1941 in Waukegan, IL to Kenneth and Viola (nee Ullrich) Grosvenor.
Ken served as a Corporal in the Marine Corps Reserves from 1964 until 1970, he was a Marine Corps League life member and participated in Toys for Tots Marine Corps breakfast. He served as the Grayslake Jaycee’s President, Grayslake Park District President, Avon Township Trustee, Avon Township Youth Baseball Commissioner and was a member of the Lion Club of Grayslake. Ken founded the Grayslake Colts in 1968, and co-founder of the Tom Grosvenor Memorial.
Ken is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ginny, whom he wed on January 23, 1965 in Mundelein, IL, his children Jacqueline (Ron) Trodler of Sturtevant, WI, Michelle Pound of Lake Villa, IL, and Marc (Isela) Grosvenor of Mundelein, IL, his grandchildren Brandon (Calley) Pape of Aurora, CO, Caitlin (Laney) Pollock-Pound of Chicago, IL, Jeremy Pound of Lake Villa, IL, Madeline Pound of Champaign, IL, Adam Pound of Lake Villa, Oliva Pound of Lake Villa, IL, Alex Grosvenor of Mundelein, IL, and Ashleigh Grosvenor of Mundelein, IL and his great-grandchildren Brooks Pape and Charlotte Pape, his brother Jeff Grosvenor. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Doug and Tom and his grandson Zachary Pound.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, January 12, 2024 at the funeral chapel at 11:00am. Interment will be held following the services at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Toys for Tots of Lake County, Midwest Veterans Closet PO Box 278 Wadsworth, IL, or Grayslake Colts.
