Obituary's Biography:

Kathleen M. Friend, 72, passed away May 30, 2022, at Journey Care Barrington, IL. She was born September 7, 1949, in Chicago, IL to George and Dawn (Baber) Totino.

Kathleen is survived by her sisters; Sharon Pfister, Debra Vesecky, Laurie Totino-Rohl (Michael) Rohl. Her nephews: Andrew, Scott, Jeff, Michael, and Nicholas, her nieces: Jennifer, Jill, Bethany, and Brittney, her great-nephews: Cameron, Calvin, Henry, and Zachary, and her great-nieces: Allison, Sydney, Addie, Finley, Taylor, Julie, Hailey and Alessandra. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents George and Dawn Totino.

Our sister, Kathleen Friend, has ended her struggle with ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Kathy passed quietly and peacefully May 30, 2022 within the guiding hands and love of Hospice. It’s been a long journey for all of us but we smile when we know she is free of her confining body. She said when she recently dreamed, she was running free.

Kathleen’s favorite holiday was Christmas and was a Hallmark Channel fanatic. She loved the Chicago White Sox, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and listening to music especially The Letterman, Clay Aiken, The Buckinghams, The Ides of March, and The Raiders.

A visitation will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Thursday June 2, 2022 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Words of Celebration will be at 7:00 pm. Interment will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, IL. 60162. Please meet directly at the Cemetery Office.
