Obituary's Biography:

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Josefa Gonzales, on September 7, 2020, she went to be with the Lord. She was 82 years old. She was a loving wife and mother, devoted Great-great-grandmother and a friend to all. She and her husband, Francisco Gonzalez took great pride in raising a large family of ten children.

A private celebration of Josefa’s life will be held at the family’s home in Round Lake Beach, IL, which she so dearly loved and where so many good times and memories were had.

She loved the garden, especially the peonies, roses, hyacinths, and tulips and always had sweet memories of her cat, Mittens. Josefa was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren, embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as gramma “abuelita”. She had a loving personality and always made people around her feel comfortable and many were lucky to have her tasty homemade flour tortillas. She made friends easily, was loved by many and some considered her a second mom.

She is the loving & devoted mother of Olga L. Trujillo, Maria C. Cruz, Gilberto Gonzalez, Blanca L. Gonzalez, Jose A. Gonzalez, Velia Bobadilla, Eduardo Gonzalez, Jesus “Jesse” Gonzalez, Everardo Gonzalez, Virginia “Vicky” Gonzalez. Cherished son-in laws, Raymundo Cruz, Jose Trujillo, and daughter in-laws – Luz Maria Gonzalez, Rosalinda Gonzalez, Stephany Gonzalez.

Loving daughter of the late Viviano Castillo and Virginia Castillo Prieto. Sister of late Edelmiro Castillo, Jesus Castillo, Bernadino Castillo, Ignacio Castillo, Natividad Castillo and sister-in-law of late Elvira Castillo and Aurora Castillo. Survived by her dear siblings Petra Garza Castillo, Reynaldo Castillo and beloved sister-in-law, Tina Castillo and Micaela Castillo. Also loving and survived by the Castillo and Gonzalez families and many nieces and nephews.

She was loving and gentle yet the strongest woman we’ve ever known. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Con profunda tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Josefa Gonzales, el 7 de Septiembre de 2020, fue a estar con el Señor. Tenía 82 años. Era una esposa y madre amorosa, devota bisabuela y amiga de todos. Ella y su esposo, Francisco Gonzalez se enorgullecieron mucho de criar a una gran familia de diez hijos. 

Una celebración privada de la vida de Josefa se llevará a cabo en la casa de la familia en Round Lake Beach, Illinois, que ella tanto amaba y donde se tenían tantos buenos momentos y recuerdos.

Le encantaba el jardín, especialmente las peonías, rosas, jacintos y tulipanes y siempre tenía dulces recuerdos de su gatita, Mittens. Josefa era una esposa y madre dedicada ante todo. Ella adoraba a sus hijos y nietos, disfrutando cada momento con ellos. Le encantaba especialmente ser abuelita. Tenía una personalidad amorosa y siempre hacía que la gente a su alrededor se sintiera cómoda y muchas tuvieron la suerte de tener sus sabrosas tortillas de harina caseras. Hizo amigos fácilmente, fue amada por muchos y algunos la consideraron una segunda madre.

Sobrevivida por su querido hermano Reynaldo Castillo, su bella hermana Petra Garza Castillo, su muy adorada y estimada cuñada Cristina “Tina” Castillo y Micaela, y tambien por muchos sobrinos y sobrinas a los que siempre amó.

Ella era amorosa y gentil y la mujer más fuerte que hemos conocido. Será muy extrañada y estara siempre en nuestros corazones.
