Obituary's Biography:

Joan Bellamy, 79 of Grayslake, Illinois, formerly of Lake Bluff, Illinois passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Joan was born on February 3, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter of the late Elmer Staufenbiel and Morelle (Hasenburg) Staufenbiel.

Joan was a bookkeeper at Academic Tutoring Center for many years in Highland Park, IL. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed watching New York Yankees baseball games and singing along to her favorite music. Everyone who knew Joan would tell you she was funny, smart and proud of her family. She will be truly missed by all.

She is survived by two children, Tricia (Greg) Vanover, of Windermere, FL., and Michael Bellamy, of Mechanicsburg, PA. Her brother, Russ (Kathy) Staufenbiel of Mundelein, IL. Her five grandchildren, Lauren Vanover, Emily Vanover, Makenna Bellamy, Benjamin Bellamy and Joshua Bellamy and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Michael Staufenbiel.

A memorial visitation and service will be held on March 15, 2024 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with the memorial service commencing at 7:00pm. For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.
