  1. Grandpa. You raised your family so I could mine. Dedicated, compassionate, handy, true, and a partner to Grandma for 72 years. You built bridges, you built houses. You built this family, and left us feeling loved and grateful. Grateful and thankful for your life, and ours will live on in memory of you.
You taught me so much, Grandpa you are loved. I remember the riding lawn mower/ gocart. The treehouse that I barely used. The swing set in the yard. Clothesline pulled across the backyard. And through the years you were there. At school. At my games. You were there, next to Grandma, along with Dad, along with Aimee. Right beside Mom. You have all been there when I needed you. And I will ways remember our fix it and remodeling projects. At your house, and at mine. You came and fixed the mainline break at my job when I called. You helped me get my first car. The list goes on, and with it your memories, our memories of a great Man. My Grandpa. Rest in peace. I love you.

  2. Dear dad, words cannot express the love snd admiration I have for you over the past 48+ years that I have known you. You were the rock in the family always there when any of us needed you. You were a second father to me, wonderful caring grandfather to Aimee, Marty and Jerry. And how special you were to your great grandchildren Ken, Nicole, Victoria, Elizabeth and Julian. I hope you, Mike and Aimee are together once again. You will be foreever in our hearts; may you rest in peace. I love you dad.

  3. I was named after my grandfather’s. Gerald James Bartz. Grandpa Jim will be missed. I remember always thinking he was one of the smartest men I’ve ever known. When I was a child I was always so amazed at the things he knew. He was very good at building things, fixing things, working with his hands. My father is also very good at working with his hands, and fixing things, taking things apart and putting them back together. I used to love helping them out with work around the house or whatever the situation called for, to help them was always a good memory. I am still trying to process that he’s moved on. I know he’s in a better place and he’s not in any pain or suffering. I love you Grandpa Jim, and I am going to miss you. I know that you’ll always be with us in our hearts, and I know that you’ll be watching over us. I hope that I can make you proud. Love, your Grandson, Gerald James Bartz

  4. Mr Bartz…aka Papa…you will always be in our hearts and thoughts. You were a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather…also great grandfather.I hope I can live my life as close to how you were, and how your values were. Always a hard worker…and that,I always try to strive to do.. I will miss our chats and our family.gatherings together…With always the memory of you eating dinner till you were completely done…lol. Would be there for hours it seemed…But with many memories that I’m grateful to have been able to share with him and family….may he rest in peace. And for his wife Joan (Nana)…sorry for your loss and hopefully you find peace knowing he’s in a better place… we are always here for you! Love you always…the Sanji family

  5. While growing up throughout the years, you have left no dull moments. You showed me patience, compassion, and love. I’m forever grateful to have grown up knowing my great-grandfather. You were such a kind, gentle person. You set an example of what a dedicated, hardworking man is. Thank you for not only helping raise me and my sister, but also my father, my aunt, for loving my nana, and making our family feel whole. Rest peacefully papa. I love you so very much.

  6. The only great Grandpa I was able to shake hands with. This loving and hardworking man was always so family oriented. Despite being of age he was still mobile. Despite offers of others he would still rather drive himself wherever he needed to go. Always showing up at family events when he was able to. Having an open seat without papa will never be the same. I will always appreciate his ethic and helpfulness. Sitting with me in his garage I remember him teaching me and building this with me and I will miss those times as well. Rest well and thrive papa. As far as I see you have earned it. Love your great grandson, Ken Sanji.

  7. Dad, it’s going on a month since you passed into heaven, and as others said, you are loved and truly missed.
You did great raising us and helped form the person I am today! I hope you are proud of how I’m taking care of mom & I couldn’t have done it without the entire family pitching in!
Thank you for being you & if we were able to get a complete do over I would not want anything changed.
    Love always,
    Dave
