Obituary's Biography:

Herbert B. Lortz, 84, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. He was born March 4, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Bruno and Hedwig Lortz. Herbert was an Indian Guide until he graduated from high school. He served for the US Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 250. Herbert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy, his children John (Linda) Lortz, Debbie (Ed) Kruk, Cathy Lortz, and Bob (Wendy) Lortz, his grandchildren Marilyn, Brian, Brad, Ann, Brittany, Sarah, Jason, Ryan, and Connor, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ruth Loose. A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm with the funeral service commencing at 7:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
