Obituary's Biography:
Helen Frances Killian, age 92, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest. She was born September 27, 1927 in Highland Park to Dominic and Frances (DeMilio) DeSanto. Helen loved gardening; baking for her family; her church family; and generously donating to her church food pantry. Helen is survived by her three children, Gregory (Barb) of Arizona, Susan (Carl) Walliser of Mundelein, and Nancy (Mark) Szerszen of Buffalo Grove; her grandchildren, James (Nora), Heidi (Mike), Jack (Alicia) Emilie, Ashlie (Tim) and Adam; five great-granchildren, Henrick, Charles, Addison, Ellie and Camden; two sisters, Terry (Helmut) Appelt of Grayslake and Rosemary (Bill) Pacella of Burr Ridge; and 37 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 31 years, John; one sister, Mary; and five brothers, Albert, James, Frank, Sam and Edward. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 22333 West Erhart Road in Mundelein. Interment will be at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road in Libertyville. Memorials in Helen’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
