Harry “Bud” N. Faris II, 77, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away December 30, 2019 at Travanse Living in Grayslake, IL. He was born August 6, 1942 in Kansas to William and Wanda Faris. Bud was a police officer for Crystal Lake and Belvidere before becoming a professional wood worker. He was most proud of having worked on Walter Payton’s home and creating a replica of the “Cheers” bar for a restaurant in Batavia. Bud loved gardening and had worked at Menards in Crystal Lake before his retirement. Bud is survived by his daughter Nicole (Frank) Slovnik, his grandchildren Ashley, Cole, and Mason Slovnik, his brother Joe (Maire) Auffenberg, his brothers-in-law, Doug (Carmella) Dobler and Mike (Gigi) Dobler, his sister-in-law Bonnie Dobler, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Debbie Faris. All funeral arrangements were held privately and were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd.
