Obituary's Biography:

Gerald J. Laurent, 91, a resident of Round Lake, passed away March 16, 2015 in Woodstock, IL. He was born May 2, 1923 in Waukegan to Reuben and Rosemary Laurent. Gerald was a cowboy, a veteran of World War II having served as a Merchant Marine and with the US Army. He was a member of the IBEW Local 134 and was a longtime art student at the College of Lake County, where he enjoyed painting. Gerald is survived by his children Steven (Barbara), Douglas (Carolyn), and Paul (Karen), his grandchildren Shawn, Gabrielle, and Matthew, his great-grandchildren Aiden, Arriana, and Kieran, his sister Cecilia Laurent, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Agnes Laurent, his brothers Paul and Dave, and his sister Patricia. Friends of the family may visit on Wednesday, March 18, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church 114 N. Lincoln Ave. Round Lake, IL 60073. Interment will be held privately.
