Obituary's Biography:

Gerald (Jerry) Andrew Nannemann, 74, of Round Lake Beach, passed away suddenly January 18, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family after a short battle with bladder cancer. He was born on October 27, 1950 in Chicago to Gerald(Lefty) and Rose (nee Baumgartner).

Jerry was a devoted husband and a loving father. He was hard-working and dedicated and spent 50 years working at Canon. In addition, he also spent time helping others and local businesses with handy and technical work such as building decks and fixing computers.

Jerry enjoyed music, technology, fishing, dancing (He could always cut a rug), traveling, grilling and gardening. He also spent his time helping care for his grandchildren. 

He was kind and understanding and always had a joke up his sleeve. There wasn’t a day that went by without a smile on his face. He left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of 53 years whom he married on June 17, 1972; his children, Linnae Rutkowski (Mike) of Round Lake Beach, Gerald Nannemann of Round Lake Beach, Grace Gall (Matt) of Vernon Hills, and Alex Nannemann (Sammi) of Strongsville, OH; his grandchildren: Jack, Molly, Maggie, Kate, Hudson, Lila, Easton and Mila; his siblings, Glenis Beadle, Cheryl Foley, Linda Barrett (Hubert); his sibling-in-laws; Barbara Bynum, Bill Shaden and Debbie Chlopek (Mike); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, including his friend Bill Toyra, who will miss him dearly.

A Visitation will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12:00pm until 4:00pm, sharing of memories will be held at 3:30pm. Interment will be held privately.

  2. Jerry was a great friend. We worked together for many years. We met for breakfast every 3 months after he retired. We will miss his humor and wisdom. RIP Jerry.
