George Plancon
Obituary's Biography:
George Robert Plancon, age 84, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Condell Hospital in Libertyville. George was loved and cared for by his daughter, Denise and son-in-law, Jamie Fuller, especially during a brief stay at an assisted living facility close to their home. George was the oldest of six children to George and Dorothy (Anderson) Plancon. He is survived by his five siblings, Barbara Hyland of Minnesota, James (Maryellen) Plancon of Iowa, Karen Lewis of Florida, Diane (Bob) Carey of Illinois, and Paul (Lyndsie) Plancon of Illinois. His grandchildren, Tessa, Kaitlyn, and Mitchell will miss Grandpa George at Sunday dinners, family birthdays, and the holidays and Ben will miss Great Grandpa George. His five siblings and their spouses, nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends will miss him (especially his Chicago neighbors around the 4th of July!) and Bisous will miss his nap-time partner.
George was born in Chicago and attended Our Lady of Sorrows grammar school and St. Phillip high school. He joined the Air Force and met his wife, Belkis (Ulgen) in Turkey while he was stationed there. They were married on the 4th of July in 1963. Belkis passed in 2018, they were married for 54 years. He worked for Proctor & Gamble while they were located in Chicago and then he retired from the City of Chicago’s Water Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post 973 – Tattler Post.
A Funeral Service will be held in the May Chapel at Rosehill Cemetery, 5800 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60660 on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 10:00am, followed by a graveside service immediately following.
