Obituary's Biography:

Grayslake, IL — George Francke, age 88, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at Condell Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Francke is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elaine (nee Jacobsen), two loving daughters Cheryl (Gordon) Persha, and Janice Francke, and his much loved grandson Gordon Persha, Jr. He is preceded in death by his father George Francke, Sr., mother Olga, and brother William.
George grew-up in Chicago, IL. He was a veteran of War II, where he served in the U.S. Army. He was a cement mason by trade. He enjoyed gardening and building & flying model airplanes. He was quiet and unassuming, but he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday May 12, 2014 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 10:30 am at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow at Avon Centre Cemetery in Grayslake, IL.
