Erwin V. Kopecky
Obituary's Biography:
Erwin Vincent Kopecky, an 88-year-old Grayslake (Saddlebrook Farms) resident, passed away at home on Friday afternoon, Aug. 30, 2013. He was born in Chicago on Apr. 5, 1925 to the now late Erwin J. and Julia {nee Fallada} Kopecky. Erwin was an incredibly proud veteran of WWII, having enlisted in the U.S. Army, and ultimately surviving the Battle of the Bulge. He worked as a photo engraver for 21 years, and then at Hall Printing for 19 years. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Theresa {nee Guido}; loving father of Vincent (Sharon) Kopecky, Carmine (Terri) Kopecky, Erwin (Connie) Kopecky, the now late Eugene Kopecky, AnnaMarie (Tony) Brzezniak, and Joe E. (Jimmy) of New Orleans; adoring grandfather of 21 and doting great-grandfather of 13+. Friends of the family may visit at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 on Wed. Sep. 4, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A second brief visitation will be held on Thu. Sep. 5, 2013 at St. Mary of the Annunciation, 22333 W. Erhart Rd., Mundelein, IL 60060 from 9:30 a.m. until the commencement of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, just adjacent to the church.
