Obituary's Biography:

Dorothy Bouma, 87, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away January 1, 2024 at her home. She was born February 7th, 1936 in Grayslake, IL to Albert and Marie Sorensen.
Dorothy worked at the College of Lake County for many years. She was a gifted quilter. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was very independent and resourceful. She could accomplish anything she put her heart into. She was a 2nd generation Grayslakeian, born in the family homestead off of Rte. 83. She would never turn down a good old fashion ice cream sundae.
Dorothy is survived by her sons Dale (Kathryn) Stark, John (Jamie) Bouma, and Brian (Kate) Bouma. Her grandchildren are Stephanie McClellan, Erin Stark, Simone January-Kemp, Ian Bouma, Nolan Bouma, Jaelyn Bouma, Jackson Bouma, and Gavin Bouma. Her great grandchildren are Avril McClellan, Travis McClellan, Deegan McClellan, Alycia Belotti, Brianna Patrick, and Jayla Kemp. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly, her parents, and her brothers Chuck, Ray, and Don Sorensen.
