Diane R. Harbecke
Obituary's Biography:
Diane R. Harbecke, 72, a resident of Lake Villa, IL, passed away October 17, 2022 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. She was born December 3, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Raymond and Rose Fester.
Diane was devoted to her faith and a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church in Grayslake, IL. She grew up in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago where she met Ed through her cousin Denny and they married in the “summer of ‘69”. She loved her family and the friendships she created during her life. She especially treasured being a grandmother and great grandmother. She was known as Auntie Di to the neighborhood children who knew and loved her.
She was full of energy and that energy was contagious to those around her. Diane had a talent for decorating and shared that talent, especially at Christmas time. She enjoyed experiencing new things, new places, new foods and an occasional glass of Moscato. She always put her family first, she was the rock and the glue that kept everything together and will be sadly missed by all.
Diane is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edward Harbecke, her daughter Tina (William Behrens) Kuthe, her grandson Nicholas Jordan Kuthe, her great-grandson Hudson Kuthe, her brothers Raymond (Avaline) Fester and John Fester, and her cousins.
A memorial mass is scheduled for Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 11am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the Cancer Federation.

I was blessed to have this special woman in my life. If ever a saint there was, it was Diane. She found the good in all of us and would ask us to do the same. I will miss you eternally and I love you.
Diane was my cousin and I always looked her. She was like a second big sister to me. We will miss her.
Please be at peace in heaven. So glad I got to see you one last time. So many beautiful memories. Love you my cousin

Dear Diane, fifty two years ago we met on my back porch. Your sweet smile drew me in. I am the lucky one to have known such a beautiful soul and am so privileged to be your best friend in life and in death. Sleep with the Angels dear girl. Love forever, Patty
