Obituary's Biography:

Cody Ray Woodruff (Brooks) a resident of Hainesville, IL passed away November 1, 2013 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL at the age of 30. He was born January 17, 1983 in Rock Springs, WY to Debbie and Ray Brooks. Cody was a member of the Living Waters Church, Free Spirit Softball, We Care bowling, and Special Rec bowling. Cody was loved by many! He was the life of every party. A loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Cody grew up in Wyoming and South Dakota and later moved to Illinois. He graduated from Grayslake Community High School. He worked at Lakeside in Waukegan packaging office supplies. He loved bowling, softball, and played on many leagues and for the Special Olympics. Cody loved watching wrestling (WWE) and hated missing Monday Night RAW or Friday Night Smackdown. He will be more than missed and will forever be in our hearts and may he rest in peace. Cody is survived by his parents Debbie and Ray Brooks, his sister Susan (Shane) Vernooy of McHenry, and his brother Robert (Erica) Brooks of Round Lake. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Bena E. and Orland W. Strom, his aunt Cindy Paulson, his uncles Richard Gibbens and Bob Gibbens, and his brother Tim Brooks. A memorial service will be held on Thursday November 7, 2013 at 10:30am with a luncheon to follow both at Living Waters 525 N. Atkinson Rd. Grayslake, IL. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cody Woodruff Memorial Fund c/o Susan Vernooy 2315 Oakwood Court McHenry, IL 60051.   2. Debbie & Ray, Cody was a wonderful nephew and will be missed more than I can say, he made everyone smile when he walked into a room. I am so sorry for you to have lost a person as special as Cody was. Debbie I don’t think I have ever seen a Mom love and care for their child as you have done, he knew how much you loved him and don’t ever forget he loved you too. Ray you are and always will be the best thing that came into Cody’s life and made him the man that he became. You both always know that I love you and there isn’t anything that I wouldn’t do for either of you. Don’t hesitate to call if you need anything. I LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! R.I.P. It’s been one year since Cody’s smile has been on the block…but it’s still remembered….a WWE figurine is still at my doorstep, Cody and you are still remembered…hope you are watching the wrestling in Heaven!…Debi, if you see this, I do not have your number or address…please call…I think of you and Ray often!…Love to you both and Cody always..
