Obituary's Biography:
Charles “Chuck” Paul Altman, 78 of Kenosha, WI for the past 12 year formally of Round Lake Beach, IL for 58 years went home to the lord surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 7th. Charles was the only child of the late Ernest and Grace Altman (nee Peddie). Preceeded in death by his parent, son Jerry, as well as many dear family members and friends. Survived by his loving wife and best friend of nearly 44 years Judie (nee Solberg), mother-in-law Betty Solberg, daughter Jodi (Lane) Cagle and son Jason (Courtni) Altman, adored granddaughters Stephanie (Adam) Altman, Abby Cagle and Natalie Altman. Two loving grandsons, Cory Cagle and Devin Goetz. Proud Papa (Great Grandpa) of Gavin Loftus. Charles was proud to be in the first graduating class of Round Lake High School in 1956. Together with his wife, Charles was the talented and well respect owner of Altman’s Flower and Gift Box in Round Lake Beach for over 38 years. He was involved for over 50 years in the floral industry both on a national and state level. He served as President of the Round Lake Chamber of Commerce and served on the board. More recently he served the Keonsha Community as a volunteer for the Kemper Center especially his annual decorating of the Durkee Mansion. Aside from spending time with his cherished family, Chuck enjoyed scrapbooking, photography, gardening, shopping, traveling, card playing and always looked forward to a call from his dear friends. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, 25519 W. Rte 134, Ingleside, IL on Sunday, January 10th from 4PM-9PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 10AM-12PM followed by a funeral service lead by the Reverend Lisle Kauffman. Luncheon will follow at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville, IL. To honor Chuck’s lifelong passion, flowers would be appreciated. Chuck was a good friend for most of my life. Even when we didn’t see one another for years at a time, seeing him was always a happy
I was so very sorry to hear of Chuck Altman’s passing. Chuck and Judy did the flowers for my wedding November 1979, they were wonderful to work with and the flowers were lovely. It was always a treat visiting Altman’s Flower and Gift Store, always unique items. I am so very sorry for your loss.
We are very sorry for your loss! Altman’s Flower Shop was the place we all went for our floral arrangements or just a gift, for any occasion! They always had such beautiful selection for all occasions. They have been out of business for awhile now! But, I can always remember shopping there & having a wide selection & beautiful things to choose from, for all!! We will miss Chuck Altman, he was truly a gifted individual & will be missed by many people!! Our thoughts go out to the entire family for their loss!! Words cannot take away the pain you all must be feeling!! Please know that we are thinking of you all, in this time of need!!
