Carol A. Mede

Obituary's Biography:

Carol Ann Mede, 58, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 after a 19 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She had a positive attitude throughout her treatment and saw joy in each day. Family and friends were very dear to Carol, and she treasured the simple gift of togetherness. Being a wife and mother was everything she ever wanted, and she was blessed with a wonderful husband and daughter. 

Carol was a graduate of Purdue University and worked in computer systems for Energy Absorption in Chicago. She married her husband Gary in 2000 and moved from Orland Park to Grayslake. She regularly attended St. Gilbert Parish, and volunteered countless hours at St. Gilbert School as well. Dancing to rock music and walking her dogs were among her favorite activities, and her endless energy will never be forgotten. Carol is survived by her husband Gary Mede, daughter Michelle Mede, parents Richard and Lucy Zaremba and sister Linda (Jeff) Gunderson.

Friends and family may visit on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:45 am at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL.  A funeral mass is scheduled to follow immediately after at 12:00 pm at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL.  A luncheon will follow the mass at Jimmy’s Charhouse, 1413 Petersen Road, Libertyville, IL.
