Betty Solberg
Obituary's Biography:
Betty I. Solberg (nee Beran), resident of Round Lake for over 50 years, formally of Ocala, Florida and recently of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin went to her eternal rest on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. She passed comfortably at her home at Robins Way Assisted Living comforted by family including the exceptional team at Robins Way.
Betty was born October 7, 1924 to Charles and Elizabeth Beran in Chicago. She grew up in Chicago surrounded by a large family. She moved to Round Lake in 1952 and worked at Heppner Manufacturing in Round Lake followed by Gefco Manufacturing in Grayslake. In her later years she worked part time in the family flower shop in Round Lake Beach. She was an avid bowler, dancer and card player. She had an amazing talents with a crochet needle.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Al in 1990, her second husband Burt in 2004, son-in-law Chuck Altman, grandson Jerry Altman as well as brothers Chuck (late Millie), Bill and Jim (late Arlene) Beran.
She is survived by her only child, Judie (late Charles) Altman of Pleasant Prairie and formally of Altman’s Flower Box in Round Lake Beach, IL; one granddaughter Jodi (Lane) Cagle of Pleasant Prairie; one grandson Jason (Courtni) Altman of Lake Villa; five great-grandchildren, Stephanie (Adam), Cory, Devin, Abby and Natalie; two great-great-grandchildren Gavin and Evelynn Grace Loftus. Betty leaves three nephews, four nieces and many dear friends.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, 33100 North Hunt Club Road, Libertyville, IL.
