Alexander Skilling Stewart, Jr.
Obituary's Biography:
Alexander Skilling Stewart, Jr., age 60, of Gurnee, IL, passed away on the 19th of November, 2022. Born to Alexander and Roseanne Stewart, Alex was lifelong resident of Lake County, Illinois.
A lover of fishing and the outdoors, Alex initially worked for the Lake County Forest Preserve District. However, he found his true vocation in Transportation, spending over 30 years managing bussing programs for school districts and ensuring hundreds of thousands of children traveled safely to and from school every day.
But the role that Alex cherished most was that of father to Jennifer and Kimberly and grandfather to Charlie Rose and Cyrus Alexander. Sharing a love of animals with daughter Jen, together they delighted in the antics and companionship of their menagerie – especially dogs Blue, Angus, and Snoop. And regular evening FaceTime sessions with daughter Kim, and beloved grandchildren Charlie and Cy became a favorite part of his routine.
Alex is survived by his daughters Jennifer and Kimberly (Zach Klocek) and grandchildren Charlie Rose and Cyrus Alexander Klocek; his sister Michelle Gibbs (Jason), brother Jamieson (Pam Stein), and sister-in-law Jeana; nieces Jackie and Jessica Phares and nephews Weston and Trevor Franklin. Alex will be deeply missed by his many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Alex Sr. and his brother Glenn.
Private memorials to Alex’s life will be held at a later date.
