Obituary's Biography:
Mary Ann Spillman, 80, of Grayslake formerly of Highland Park Illinois, passed away on January 19, 2024. Born on September 6, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, Mary Ann was the loving mother of Jeff (Amy) Spillman, Diane Spillman, and Brian (Melanie) Spillman. She was also a cherished grandmother to Olivia, Evan, Ella, and Owen.
Mary Ann taught at New Trier High School in Winnetka and then went on to have a successful career at both Baxter Laboratories and AON/Hewitt.
Mary Ann was known for her kind and nurturing nature. She loved volunteering at her grandchildren’s school where she was fondly known as “Popcorn Grandma” and dedicating her time to the local hospital. She spent years raising funds for the MS Society. Her green thumb was evident in her love for gardening. Admired for her cooking skills, she loved listening to her favorite performer, James Taylor while preparing family meals.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo Spillman, her parents Stanley and Mary White, and her sister Joan (Philip) Egizio. She is survived by her sisters, Jean White and Nancy White, Mary Ann will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Interment and private services will be at a later date.
The family asks that In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of Mary Ann’s caring and compassionate spirit.
