Jose Antonio Martinez-Barrera, age 79, a resident of Round Lake Beach, IL, passed away on August 3, 2023 at his home. He was born on January 29, 1944 in Mexico City to Rodolfo Martinez and Elisa Barrera. Jose was a passionate teacher and soccer coach. He was loved and respected by his students. He will be greatly missed and his humor too! Jose lived the way he wanted to live it.

Jose is survived by his children, Erick Gerrity of Grayslake, IL., Eileen Marie Robbins of Plano, IL., Joseph Anthony Martinez of Elgin, IL., Marie Elisa Tyler of Plano, IL., and Phillip Anthony Martinez of Colorado Springs, CO.
