Obituary's Biography:
Robert L. “Bob” Goodwin, age 85, a resident of Palatka, FL passed away on June 29, 2023. He was born on August 25, 1937 to Della “Dale” and Everette Goodwin, the second of five boys. Bob grew up in Chicago, moving to Lake County as a teen, and resided most of his adult life in Lake County. He held a variety of jobs throughout his life, such as a printer, police officer, ski instructor in Colorado and even as a traveling carnival worker for a time. He retired in 2002 as a property manager and relocated to Florida in 2003.
He is survived by his children, Sue Ellen (Dennis) Hart of Oregon, Linda Adams of Arizona, Daniel (Norine) Goodwin Allison of Arizona, James Goodwin Allison of Arizona, Laurie (Floyd) Earls of Missouri, and Becky (Andrew) Frielink of Illinois; his brothers, Ron (Alma) Goodwin of Georgia, and Russ (Joan) Goodwin of Wyoming, many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and friends by the dozen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie in 2000; his sons, Mark Goodwin and Robert “Mickey” Goodwin; his brothers, Richard in 2017, and Roger in 2021.
A Memorial Service will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 12:00pm. A visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral chapel from 10:00am until the time of service. Inurnment will be held at Willow Lawn Cemetery in Vernon Hills.
