Obituary's Biography:
Roy Wilbur Otto Horn, age 96, Wylie, TX, Long-time of Ingleside IL, passed away on January 26, 2022 at Garnet Hill Skilled Nursing in Wylie, TX. He was born on March 6. 1925 in Chicago to William Henry Horn and Lydia Lillian (Wegner) Horn. Roy was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, since 1958. He resided on Long Lake, loved fishing and enjoying the lake. Roy enjoyed hunting on the Chain, gardening, especially growing gladiolus, dahlias, lilies, and zinnias and feeding birds. He was an ardent Cubs fan and loved marches by John Phillips Sousa. Roy is survived by his children Kathleen (Robert) Meader Milton, FL and Marilyn (Lawrence) Lutz Wylie, TX, his grandchildren Michael Lingle Hebner (Jennifer Pfieffer) LaPorte, IN, Megan (Rebecca) Brownfield Pace FL, Jeremy Lutz (LeeAnn Molish) Lake Bluff, IL, Brendan (Meagan Mitrovitch) Lutz Houston TX, and Meredith (Russell) Smart Wylie TX, his great-grandchildren Samuel, Braylon, and Benjamin Brownfield, Karissa (Hebner) Fretwell and Zachary Hebner, and his great-great-grandson Wesson Fretwell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Mackenzie (Morris) Horn whom he married on 10/10/1953 in Chicago, IL and his parents. A visitation and funeral service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25519 W. Hwy 134, Ingleside, IL 60041 on Friday, February, 4 2022 at 10:00am until 11:00am with the funeral service commencing at 11:00am at the church. Interment will be held after the service at Ridgewood Memorial Park in Des Plaines, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to National Wildlife Federation, Long Lake Improvement and Sanitation Association, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, and Arbor Day Foundation.
