Thomas G. Strang
Obituary's Biography:
Thomas George Strang, 86, a lifelong resident of Grayslake, passed away October 12, 2018 at his home. He was born April 5, 1932 in Waukegan, IL to Harold and Gertrude (nee: Grandy) Strang. Tom faithfully served his country during the Korean War for the US Army, discharging in October of 1960. He retired from Anchor Coupling of Libertyville and helped with the family funeral home all of his life. Tom was a lifelong member of the Grayslake Historical Society and a member of the American Legion Post #659 for 64 years. He was an avid train enthusiast and known for his love of animals especially boxers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Arden Babcox, and his brother David G. Strang. Tom is survived by several cousins, and the devoted staff at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium. Friends may visit on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Reverend Lisle Kauffman officiating. Tom was such a kind and caring person. He was a great neighbor and always loved to talk to everyone. My girls would love to bring him and Dave baked goods. They always enjoyed them.
