Obituary's Biography:
Robert “Bob” C. Bisland, 72, a resident of Gurnee, IL, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Captain Lovell Medical Center in North Chicago. He was born September 12, 1944 in Waukegan, IL to James and Kathryn Bisland. Bob was a veteran having served with the Army as a paratrooper and paramedic. He was retired from the Zion Park District after 18 years of service. Bob enjoyed woodworking, could fix anything, and was an outdoorsman. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth “Betsy”, his children Janice (Don) Ziegler, Robert “Mike” (Julie) Bisland, Carol Chalmers, and Linda (Butch) Dean, his grandchildren Liz, Andrew, Claire, and Alec Ziegler, Nichole, Sarah, and Christine Bisland, Chloe and Lilly Chalmers, and Kirsten, Kenny, and Kevin Dean, his sisters Ruth Wendricks and Kathie (Jim) Casey, his cousin Keith Borg, and the entire MacLagan family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Nancy. Friends of the family may visit at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans Affairs or the Kidney Foundation.
