Larry Hintz

Obituary's Biography:

Larry P. Hintz, age 79, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away on November 7, 2024 at his home.  He was born on August 31, 1945 in Chicago to Richard and Anita (nee Ossman) Hintz. Larry was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

A proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Larry served with distinction in Harbor Beach, MI, where he dedicated his time and efforts to protecting and serving his country. His military service shaped his character, instilling in him a deep sense of duty and commitment that he carried throughout his life.

Larry was known for his love of classic rock music, often filling his home with the sounds of his favorite bands. His passion for muscle cars was equally notable, and he enjoyed working on them as well. He was also fond of animals, especially dogs. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty and love.

Larry is survived by his fiancé, Kathleen Shaver; his children, Laura Maksymiak and Jason (Kim) Hintz; his grandchildren, Caitlyn (Ben) McClure, Jenna (Ethan) Menke, Alivia Hintz, and Gabe Hintz; his great grandchildren, Leo, Ella, Charlotte, Nolan, Jack, Hadley and also Karen Altmann of Murfreesboro, TN the mother of his children, all of whom will forever hold his memory close. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol Hintz.  A special thanks to Kerry S. his stepdaughter, Suzanne P. and Charity P. for their loving caregiving.

A Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 10am until 11am, with a funeral service commencing at 11am. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, in memory of his late sister, Carol.
