Obituary's Biography:
Maria Irma Carlon, age 80, passed away in her home on October 31st, 2024 at 8:06am. She was born May 4th, 1944 in Carácuaro Michoacán, Mexico daughter to Graciela and Alejo Cardenas.
As a Mexican immigrant, Maria deeply believed in the American Dream migrating to the U.S. in 1978, seeing it as an opportunity to work hard, overcome challenges, and build a better life for herself and her family. Living in Chicago for 41 years she invested in real estate, putting her hard-earned savings toward property ownership as a way to build financial security. She owned 4 homes in Chicago and 1 in Mexico. In December of 2020, she bought her 5th and final home in Lindenhurst IL. Her longest held position was in housekeeping for Alexian Brothers Hospital and her final position was with ASI Home Care as a home caregiver. She had a passion for buying cars enjoying the process of selecting and appreciating each vehicle as both an investment and personal interest.
Our mother was the heart and strength of our family. Her honesty and integrity guided every aspect of her life, teaching us the value of hard work, truthfulness, and resilience. We deeply appreciate our mom for all of her hard work and dedication. Her sacrifices and determination have shaped our lives and inspired us, and we are endlessly grateful for everything she has done for our family.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband Miguel Carlon. She is survived by her children, Rene, Miguel Angel, Irma, Norma and her dog Luna. Her grandchildren: Ashely, Alexa, Melissa, Miguel, Viviana, Johnathan, Rhihanna, Nicholas, Valentina, Valeria, Noah, and Meadow. Great grandchild: Sebastian
A Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm, with a funeral service commencing at 8:00pm.
