Gladys M. Pahl

Obituary's Biography:

Gladys M. Pahl, age 86, a resident of McHenry, passed away on October 7, 2024 at White Oaks of McHenry.  She was born on April 26, 1938 in Chicago to Edward and Alice Burback. She graduated from Waller High School in Chicago in 1957 and married her husband, Robert H. Pahl, Jr, in February 1958. They lived and raised their family in Chicago.  After retirement she and Bob moved to Saddlebrook Farms Adult Community in Grayslake in August of 1998. Bob passed away in 2005 and she remained active with her Saddlebrook neighbors. In 2016, she moved to an assisted living facility and in 2018 moved to White Oaks Memory Care in McHenry due to the progression of dementia.

Gladys is survived by her children, Robert “Bob” (Beth) of Grayslake and Robin Beitzel of Grayslake; her grandchildren, Scott (Jen) Beitzel of Wheaton, Amy (Dan) Moczisko of Gurnee, Rachael Pahl of Tuolumne, CA, and Emily Pahl of Grayslake; her great grandchildren, Grayson Moczisko, Ivy Moczisko, Wyatt Beitzel, and Ada Beitzel; and her siblings, Lorretta Kirkpatrick and Daniel Burback.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Pahl, Jr; her mother, Alice Burback; her son-in-law, Steven Beitzel; and her siblings, Edward Burback, Dorothy Neuzil, Ray Burback, and Alice “Tiny” Davis.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 3pm until 8pm, with a service commencing at 6:30pm. A committal service will be held at Elm Lawn Memorial Park, 401 E Lake St, Elmhurst, IL 60126 on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11:30am.
